COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged? Many beers have a long maturation, but this one has only 24-36 months in oak barrels. Pale? This beer has an old gold to bronze color, rather than the burgundy more common in the breweries of West Flanders. This is the ‘mother beer,’ used in various quantities to blend with the other Petrus beers, and to give them their unique and very distinctive taste. This mother beer is rather sour with a bite like the best Brut Champagnes. A connoisseur’s delight! The only one of its kind on the U.S. market.

UPDATED: APR 9, 2019 330 ml bottle/11.2 oz. Pours a gold with a tight white head that dissipates over time. Huge yeast and sours smells with spices evident. Big sour tastes balanced with wheat, a fizzy mouthfeel and dry finish. Nice Belgian.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2019 0.33 bottle C: amber N: apple vinegar, wine barrel, funk P: sour, bitter, green apples, lemon tart, lime rind, barrel funk, hint of tokaji. Carbonation and taste qualities really are champagne like. Very tasty this one.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2019 Pours a hazy golden peach, wispy white head. Nose is heavy barnyard, light wood and tart strawberry. Big on the tongue, very dry. More fruitiness emerges, white grape peel, light lemon, more oak. Excellent.

WortMeister11 (90) - - JAN 24, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2019 Aroma: vinegar, green apple peel, lemon, some funky notes. Appearance: clear golden-orange color with lots of bubbles coming up and a one-finger white head Taste: lots of apple, some sour cherry, some funky notes, bready malt, high sourness, low sweetness, low bitterness. Palate: medium-light body, high carbonation, little-to-none alcohol sensation Overall: It tastes like apple vinegar or champagne. The alcohol sensation is much lower than what I expected from 7.3% ABV. very refreshing. Sourness is somewhat too sharp.

DruncanVeasey (9509) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2019 Bottle from Lidl? Possibly Jan 2018. Big foamed deep gold. Enticingly tart bouquet of rhubarb edginess, mouldering windfall, real cider, rhubarb and custard sweets. Tart and dank with way-gone pineapple and crab apple yeast. Calamine splashes. Lambic for pussies. Not sure if I'm being hoodwinked but I don't mind if I am.

ebvardh (2) - - JAN 13, 2019 does not count
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2019 A strong apple vinegar smell right off the bat. I had the first sip and it's as if I sucked on a lemon. In fact, it was very much like a lemon for the duration of my drinking it, I just never got used to the taste enough to perceive anything beyond 'green apple sourness'. The head is very white, and lingers on the glass forever and the pale color makes it look very unassuming for such an intense super sour experience.

NobleTeam26 (209) - Kyiv, UKRAINE - JAN 6, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 Color is clear yellow, big white foam. Aroma is very strong, similar to good dry champagne. Taste is fresh, super sour. Wonderful beer.
