Smells of un-muddled hops with just enough malt sweetness to achieve a good balance. Grassy, clean and fresh. Very pretty bronze color with a small off white head. Decent hop bite immediately upon tasting but some sweetness makes an appearance making it very well rounded. Very good palate - dense, smooth, silky and slightly carbonated. Very good like most of Stones encore IPAs. Im glad they brought this one back and I will be looking for it again.

Not a home run for a Stone double. A well laced white had on a clear light amber body. Nose features malt, dank and fruity hops. Hops are a nice mix of grapefruit, floral and semi-astringent earthy tones, but not as juicy and fresh as some Stone products. The malt is chewy, caramel and biscuit. A touch of pepper in there somewhere. A nice mid-density body and mid to low carbonation. Meh.

Great aroma. Hoppy fresh. Bittersweet. Boozy. Tropical. No head. Pale orange. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A 22 oz bomber, bottled on 25th August 2016, to be enjoyed by 23rd November 2016 (drank on the 26th, so Im three days late). Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It poured a clear copper amber colour with a big three finger white head with pretty good retention and nice lacing. Aromas of citrus zest mostly mandarin and lemon, grapefruit, pine, biscuity malt and flowery. Tastes biscuity malt, light caramel sweetness, mandarin, orange zest bitterness, a hint of tropical mango and peach, with a light floral and herbal element. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall I was not impressed with my first sip, BUT actually, this got a lot better the more I drank it. Its not too sweet and not too bitter in my opinion, which seems to be a rare thing with Double IPAs these days. I enjoyed it, especially the more I had.

Bomber via trade in Brussels, thanks Beercation.

Thank you Sebletitje. Bomber sampled @ Sebletitjes Farewell Tasting. Clear orange with a creamy off-white head. Nose is very mellow onion hop, pine, some biscuit malt, vague sugar even, pine oil, orange peel. Taste is easy orange peel, mandarin, very mild hay, low pine resin, easy dried mandarin peel, biscuit malt. Bit malty body-wise some mandarin peel. Very mellow by current standard, interesting to try this blast from the past. This must have been a harsh IPA back in the day, these days this barely even qualifies as an APA. Good but too mild for me, could have used more hop. Interesting look at how things used to be.
