Can/Bottle American Red Ale 5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. UPDATED: FEB 12, 2024 Orange copper pour. Even lace. Thick foam around the rim. The flavor is citrus and vanilla with a palate of citrus and hay.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2024 330 ml bottle from PakNSave , Rangiora NZ : Stunning orange amber beer , big head ... clover honey aroma , subtle yet complex nose ... frothy mouthfeel , malty , needs more depth of bitterness .

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2023 12 oz. can from the Brewdog USA WInter Mix Pack. Pours a clear mahagony color with modest off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma has orange marmalade, caramel, bread, dark fruits and some pine. Body is medium without too much carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet, less bitter but stronger than you would expect for 5.0% ale. An interesting, excellent red ale.

Pours a deep amber almost copper color with a frothy off white head that slowly recedes. Earthy light citrus bready light caramel not bad but a nice change for the plethora of ipa's so far.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2023 Can from Home Bargains of all places. Light hazed reddish brown with small off white head. Aroma of homemade marmalade, grapefruit rind, caramel. Taste of Seville oranges with light marmalade hint, pine, caramel, bread crust, mineral water. Leads to a sweet, slight tanginess and bold bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, fine carbonation, very sessionable for the style
Its not huge in depth with regards to malt or hop profile but there is a lovely balance and good progression in flavour from start to finish to make this a very good and tasty beer.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2023 Can. Clear dark amber with shades of red sporting a solid white head. Aroma of resin, pine, malts, red berries and grapefruits. Taste of resin, pine, honey, toffee, orange marmelade, red berries, grapefruits and some herbs. Strong bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Light mouthfeel but not watery. Tastes stronger than it actually is. Very enjoyable.
