UPDATED: MAY 5, 2019 29 April 2019. At Zeiven Uke, Leuven - shared with Anke! Pours clear golden with a huge, slowly collapsing, foamy, white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of yeast, old apple sauce, dried banana & apricot, breadcrust, clove, faint cabbage. Taste is light to medium fruity sweet, estery banana & apple peel, topped with white sugar, some (retronasal) cabbage again, clove-like phenols next to bitter grass & pepper, all the while yeasty. Dry, grassy hoppy finish, spicy-phenolic still, more yeast, and some warming, not too subtle, jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, thinnish oily texture, lively carbonation. Not a very refined Tripel but there are other, more obnoxious examples out there, so it’s decent enough for a sunny day in spring.

T: malty, fruity, sweet orange, yeasty, bit higher alcohols, bit spicy, nothing very special, too sweet for me, full body, medium carbonation, 33cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.

Blond colour with thin head. It’s a well balanced Tripel. Subtle sweet fruits, yeast and a light bitterness.

Pours clear blonde, big white head. Smell is spiced, bitter, hops and yeasty. has a certain earthyness to it, as well as a sweet touch. Taste is mostly bitter, in a sharp way (naturally, is a question ?) Over a sweet, sugar-like body. MF and carbo are fine, but the taste has something off. Not per-se a flaw from brewing, but more something I just simply do not like... I’d say its the sharp-bitterness&sugary-sweetness combo, more than other aspects, I really don’t like here.

Pours a thick orange/hazy color. A decent Abbey Tripel but nothing out of the ordinary for a beer of this kind.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow color. Slightly sweet aroma with some spice. taste is fairly smooth and semi-sweet like clover honey with a little spice. Not too much flavor and there is a slight alcohol burn at the finish. Not that enjoyable especially for a Belgian ale.

Geschmack sehr malzig, Honig, reife Früchte, leicht alkoholisch.

(Keizersberg Tripel) Stubby bottle 330 ml, served into a tulip, ABV 9% Bright golden orange colour on the body, very clear, with good activity in it. Tall soapy head, with good retention, leaving spots of lacing here and there. Aroma of sweet malts, apricot, light wine and wood notes. Sweet taste, with lots of apricot and peaches, sugars, obvious alcohol, again some homemade wine. Medium body, carbonation on the high side. Not bad, drinks good.
