Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Faint dark malt stuff in the aroma and some sweety citrusy hints with some floral "arrangement". Jet black in the glass, creamy head. Taste is semi dry with a lot of "forest" notes – spruce, pine resin, bit grassy hoppiness with tough malty core in the kind of sunflower seeds and breadcrust. Finish is very slick with resin and dark chocolate. I prefer more citrusy stuff in CDA, but that one was nice.

5/11/2018. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours chestnut brown with an off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, hops, toffee, chocolate, coffee, fruit, berries and pine. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2018 Color negro opaco. Espuma beige claro.

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from the brewery. Consumed: from a draught glass. Aroma: Smells hoppy with some yeast. Appearance : filtered medium to dark brown colour with thin head that lasts to the end with sticky lacing. Taste: Very hoppy bitter upfront with some mild malts and sweetness. Palate : medium body. Bitter aftertaste. Decent carbonation. Overall: Not what I was expecting. When it said "Dark Ale" on the bottle, I assumed a Dark Ale. I would place the IBU's closer to the 45-50 range. The first thing I thought was Dark APA when I took the first sip. I was hoping for a malty more complex beer. I was glad to try another beer from this brewer, but would not buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Bottle, 33cl, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours deep mahogany red with a large, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has soft roasted malts, mild chocolate. Lots of fresh hops, citrus, grapefruit, peach, green strawberry. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has hard roasted malts, mild chocolate, good bitterness with a slight chalky note. Peach, grapefruit, some lemon. Lovely balance.

Rami Rami is drinking a Netherworld Cascadian Dark Ale by Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery at Jabeerwocky Bardzo agresywna lesnie, sosnowo, goryczkowa a przy tym dosc wodnista. Niby robi wrazenie ale tez niekoniecznie fajne...

Bottle. "Go out on a limb. That's where the fruit is" quote under the cap. Pours pitch black with a one finger thick creamy beige head. Dark roasted malts, spicy rye aroma. Taste is quite roasted coffee forward, with the roastiness steady lingering in the finish and aftertaste. Some grapefruit bitter too in the finish. Medium light bodied but not watery, the flavour makes it a nice light sipper if you want even if this doesn't have the right consistency. Solid and t(o)asty

6%ABV. Black IPA. Poured out dark brown. 36ºSRM. Nose has black tea, black coffee, hint of bandaids, plum jam, medicinal, wood, honey. Mouthfeel is light. Palate has wood, burnt wood, burnt toast. Hop flavors are woody, minty, sap. Finish is medium, sappy bitter.
