SHIG (12157) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2020 Sample thanks to Cloin...2010: Poured a black brown with no head. Aroma is chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, boozy burn, finish is smooth and malty. Wow, classic that has held up well.

Svesse (13116) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 9, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2020 (Bottle, vintage 2010, 13.0%) Black colour with brief, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, sweet liquorice, vanilla, raisins and rich bourbon aromas. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, liquorice, vanilla, wood, raisins, dates and a vinous finish with a balanced cacao bitterness and a rich, warming bourbon touch. Full body, quite sweet. Lots of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Quite well balanced for its strength (even if it shines through). Mellow and rounded, despite its power. This is seriously good stuff. Great beer!

Bottle, Sergey's hunt; vintage 2018
Black colour. It smells like a chocolate vanilla cake. The flavour is dominated by dark chocolate and some roast, with some marshmallow, and very evident alcohol; traces of sweeet liquorice in the finish..
Massive.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2020 500ml (thx, Max F.!) at Ash's shared with Alex and Andrey. Appearance: dark brown with a weak beige head. Aroma: bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, toffe, marshmallow, very nice pastry aroma. Taste: along the same lines, quite reach. Overall: very nice.

tfontana (4782) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - APR 18, 2020
UPDATED: APR 18, 2020 Bottle (9/4/18) pour in bottle share with AirForceHops--thanks for the opportunity, Chris! Appearance is opaque, extremely dark brown--virtually black with no sparkle, excellent viscosity, ephemeral cap of beige head with no lacing. Aroma is incredibly strong--can smell it from two feet away while outside!--vanilla, roasted malt, bourbon and hints of chocolate. Taste is toffee, vanilla, chocolate, bourbon all coming at you rapid fire serially but seamlessly, then mingles nicely through the rest of the sip and ends with a nice woody--almost wood fired quality. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation, really nice alcohol warmth deep in the esophagus, hint of alcohol flavor, and finish as taste. Overall, really nicely balanced, nice strength and complexity. Strong all around.

MelvinKalksma (5592) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 8, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2020 Opaque black beer with a slight brown head. Heavy aroma; taste starts heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, mocha and roasted malts. 9/5/10/4

rennat42 (5113) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - FEB 23, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2020 Bottle/Fest. A- Vanilla, fudge. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Vanilla, fudge, Swiss Cake Rolls, bourbon. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Exactly what I would expect. Vanilla and rich fudge with a blend of bourbon. If you look really deep, you can find some oak, toffee, caramel, and marshmallow creme. Would love to have some bottles to hold on to. The only thing that keeps this from being at the very very top is that I feel like I could take regular BCBS and add some real mexican vanilla drops to it and get the same thing. Nonetheless, very tasty.
