COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
No other beer shows off what malts can do in a beer better than porter. Certified Organic Porter uses a complex blend of five malts that compliment and highlight one another in a harmonious mixture. Only one addition of imported Pacific Gem hops is used to provide a balancing bitterness without introducing any other hop character. While decidedly in the robust porter category, Certified Organic Porter has none of the harsh character people often associate with dark ales. Instead, what one finds is a rich, smooth beer with suggestions of chocolate and just a hint of coffee. So smooth and malty, this porter will convert even the non-dark beer drinker.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2018 Deep dark chocolate and hint of tobacco flavors. Light body for a porter but smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation without much of a bite. Maybe even cocoa plus bit of mild raspberry flavors here. Sweet without bitterness. Pretty good with lunch salad!

When I read the reviews, then saw how thin this poured, I was ready for a just about average or so-so porter. This definitely didn't let me down. Has a nice bold flavor for thin-textured dark. The chocolate, coffee, toffee, licorice, etc.....are all there, but not super-heavy on the malt. The hop finish is a bit stronger and fresher than average which is nice. I am interested in getting this again, as I only bought a single to sample...................... RESAMPLED ON 3/18/11: Found on sale for $6.99/six @ Whole Foods ($3 off) Jumped on it! 2nd sample is rated just as remembered. This is a solid porter. Loving the discount too.

An OK brew. Not very robust, somewhat thin. Strong chocolate notes subtle coffee notes. Not much bitterness. Not bad but basically a boring, forgettable beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black beer with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earthy hops, light coffee, some lightly sweet malt. Comes across as a very well-crafted, straight forward Porter. Quite enjoyable.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a reddish-brown cola, small tan head that quickly dissipates and leaves behind thin lacing .Taste is medium sweet, with caramel, chocolate, dark fruit and malt. A nice porter would recommend to friends.
