Gangstergafje (2018) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2019 02-02-2019; bottle; at home (bought somewhere in Sweden).
The looks of the beer are nice. The beer is pretty dark, just like the other Swedish Christmas beers that I had earlier this week. The colour is a reddish chestnut with a coppery reddish brown glow. It looks kinda nice. It has a slight haziness. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of frothy almond coloured foam. Nice looks.
The aroma of the beer is fine. It isn't to special to be honest. The malts are biscuity and bready. There seems to be a touch of rye. Also some caramel is there. Hops are a bit fruity, but mainly herbal. It is nice. There are some fruity notes overall. Not bad, but not too special.
The taste of the beer is comparable. Quite sweet, medium bitterness, and a bit thin. It is balanced, but could have had a tiny bit more power for it to be even better.
The palate is also fine. Medium body, a bit thin texture and medium carbonation. The finish is short and has some toffee and caramel, which both die away rather quickly. But, all in all, not a bad beer. I like it. Good thirst quencher. RuneStumo (2969) - Haugesund, NORWAY - DEC 22, 2017

Fedt! Derfor får den 4 stjerner... TorbenJensen (1706) - Valby, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2015
This Swedish Christmas beer has a nice persistent foam and a good flavor of hard roasted malt with hints of little prune / fig. The taste is somewhat sweet and reminds of sugar, like a classic blond beer. Dried fruit and sweetness from the malt keep him in balance with slightly burnt tones. Hop bitterness is gentle and retains its fruit for a long time. It is a very tasty Christmas beer, reminiscent of a mixture of a mild dubbel and a brown ale. Flaske 500ml fra Systembolaget, Kiruna. Drukket i Skibotn 22 Des 14. Dyp rødbrun. Bra skum med litt farge. Skummet daler raskt. Forsiktig karamellaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er søt malt & metall. I søtligste laget - men OK julefølelse. KI=6
