And this time it is all about the beer, and the beer is awesome! Gone are the 200+ IBUs which brought grown men to tears! Our new Nanny State is 0.5% ABV and focuses on being a great drink as opposed to a great publicity ploy. This beer is now focussed on getting all that is good about BrewDog into a practically alcohol free format. It is a West Coast inspired pale ale with a difference!

The beer has 45 IBUS and is brewed with centennial, amarillo, columbus, cascade and simcoe and intensively dry-hopped with centennial and amarillo. The backbone is provided by 8 different types of speciality malts with only 87 kilos of malt used in a 20HL batch (our Punk IPA uses 450 kilos in 20HL).

(3030-270220)

kappldav123 (7345) - Nordhausen, GERMANY - MAR 14, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2020 Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Can looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Fine hoppy-sweetish aroma. Starts mild, fine hoppy notes, some bready notes as well. A bit moldy. Finish mild-malty, some metallical hints. Not bad at all.

FACambridge (482) - Chelmsford, Essex, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2020 Aroma : Some toasted sweet toffee malt, but overridingly a sour lemon citrus & pine. Taste : Considering low amount of malt in the brew, it has a strong albeit short malty start. Finish is also short; dry with a citric bitterness & a slight metallic twang. Watery body. Not great but also not terrible for a low/no alcohol beer

eurekabrewer (262) - SPAIN - JAN 12, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2020 Mucho lúpulo. Resinoso y cítrico. Poquísimo cuerpo. Algo d dulzor meloso tostado. Final seco y amargo. Justea mucho y no termina resultando muy agradable. Como todas sus alcohol free sean así...

ophone (1105) - LUXEMBOURG - JAN 4, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2020 Amber clear with a thin head. Typical smell of a pale ale/IPA of grapefruit and exotic fruit. In taste less malty than most low alcohol beers, a bitterness which is not as complex as in the usual pale ale/IPA and a metallic note. Low carbonation.

DijkBier (1567) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - JAN 4, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2020 Clear ruby-brown, dark-amber to copper colour with off-white head, that retains well. Aroma is interesting: quite hoppy, both fruity, tropical and resinous with some other good senses. Taste is malty, clear hoppy, bit also bit watery. Further good mouthfeel. Brewdog made a quite OK low alco beer.

pich.83 (390) - ITALY - JAN 4, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2020 Niente male per essere una birra praticamente analcolica. Brewdog conserva lo stile con una birra da 0,5 gradi

DoctorHU (1214) - Transcarpathia, UKRAINE - DEC 13, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2019 330 ml bottle. Pours a clear brown color with off-white foam. Aroma of bitterness hop. The taste is light bodied and sweet with malts and goes to very hoppy bitterness with fresh hops and notes of citrus and tropical fruits.

Erzengel (12306) - Saarland, GERMANY - DEC 8, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2019 33cl can. Chestnut brown in the glass, intense bittered with a nice roasted back. Stehe body is thin and easy to drink, the bitterness is quite high but round with an intense bitter finish on the tongue.

jbruner (7710) - Davis, California, USA - DEC 2, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2019 Pours a clear copper from the can with fluffy off-white foam that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of hop tea with a touch of sweetness behind. Taste follows, fairly bitter with minimal if any malt body, the hops take the front and blast all the way through. Thin and watery; not horrible, but not the best low alcohol either.
