fiery1 (4609) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 27, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2022 330ml bottle @ the office. Pours an opaque dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Nose is molasses, some liquorice, cognac notes, dark malts, and some cardboard. Flavour is rich, dark chocolate, wood, cognac, and light molasses.Thin bodied, mild carbonation, and a moderate sweetness with a pronounced boozy cognac quality. It's held up well, despite the chunky bits at the bottom.

Oakes (28942) - Richmond, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 28, 2018
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2022 Dark brown, a few bubbles. The aroma is a bit boozy, some of that cognac. Relatively flat, with a smooth and sweet fruity character. Gentle, refined. 7 4 8 4 16 = 3.9 2018 rate: Dark brown, no head. Aged all right, light soy sauce, mellow, touch of chocolate, with a hint of coffee. Ok this is nice...seems to have mellowed out from prior rates. 7 3 8 4 16 = 3.8

Bottle, by way of a trade with Scopey, ages ago. Cheers Paul. Shared at Cloudwater. Almost black. Film and a few bubbles of tan head. Nose has the booze soaked chips by the bucket. Dark roast malts. Some soy. Some gravy granules. Taste is sweet and vinous. Trace of roast bitterness. Bit of a thin mouthfeel. Some boozy harshness. Sticky finish. Ok. Not getting the top 50 impy thing, to be honest.

I consumed a whole 75cl bottle of this at a halloween party in the Netherlands a few years back. The pour was black with a creamy tan head. Aromas of plums and dark cherries with some oak and vanilla. Super complex and extraordinarily tasty.

Bottle #1476, many thanks anstei & Koelschtrinker! Black color with beige head. Aroma is intense chocolate, coconut, a touch ethereal, maybe from the cognac. Taste is chocolate, toasted coconut, some chili heat in the back (but where does it come from? it's not boozy), not oxidized at all. Creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. A masterpiece!
