UPDATED: JUN 26, 2020 It pours dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is moderate. It has a strong coffee aroma with a little bit of roast and nuts. There is a very low sweet hop aroma of which the smell cannot be placed. The flavors have coffee and chocolate. It has a spicy note to it. There is a bit of sweetness to it in the finish. There are also some low roasted notes. It has a medium full body. There is a slight creamy texture to it. Overall, the coffee, sweetness, and spice makes for a nice combination.

Bottle. Opaque black with coffee coffee-like brown head. The aroma has lots of coffee, creamy, some herbs, wood, earthy, dark chocolate and soy sauce. The flavor is bitter with lots of coffee, piney, wood, dark chocolate, some alcohol, soy sauce, umami, citrus. Smooth and creamy, full-bodied. Excellent.

Bottle, thanks rayaron. Opaque black with a beige head. Aroma of coffee, piney and earthy hops, soy sauce. Bitter-sweet, coffee, dark chocolate, fudge, piney and green hops, a bit of molasses and dark fruits. Full bodied, oily, smooth. Great, probably the best Black IPA I tried so far.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours black. Chocolate, strong pine and herbal stuff, grapefruit, toast, strong roast, good coffee hit. Good body. Tasty if a little overpowering.

OMBF 2017.

330 ml. bottle bb 10/10/2026. Jet black body has a lasting film of spongy foam. Aroma of earthy cocoa, orange, dank green herb, char and caramel. Tastes of caramel, orange, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, oats and piquant green herb. Medium-plus body has low-medium fizz and an easy drinking balance.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a two fingers thick compact and creamy tan head. Roasted malts aroma with dark chocolate and some black pepper notes (this was a quite old bottle). Taste is rich of roasted coffee beans and bitter dark chocolate. The roasted aftertaste is long and powerfull. Full bodied, creamy texture, very pleasing mouthfeel. Between a black IPA and a stout. One of the best Mikkeller I had.
