Proud family traditions of Weyermann Malting and New Glarus Brewing co unite in this classic country lager bred in the Baavarian style. Painstaking efforts created the floor malted Bohemian malts that blend seamlessly and exclusively with German Hallertau Mittlefrueh hops.

Straw to light golden in color with a diminished off-white head. Fresh hops and pale malt and grain scents. The hops are more floral in nature. Pure balance from start to finish. Just no fighting for attention between the hops and the malt. Refreshing and quite light. Just a hint of salt in the linger. A nice traditional Bavarian Pils. 3/10

Crisp lager with a nice aftertaste. A good blend of grains and malts. Overall solid lager.

Reviewed from notes: pours a nice slightly darker amber color with off-white head. Dark roasted grains on the nose with some light hop notes and a little bread too; follows onto the palate. Finishes clean.

"Courtesy blue Lou. Dark nearly amber light brown. Aroma of grain, cereal, grass, honey, floral hops . Flavor much the same. Crisp and refreshing& still full flavored. This is what new glarus does best...taking a rather pedestrian style and making an awesome representation of that style...ie fruit beers, wheat beers, blocks, alt, etc.

500 ml bottle (from notes). Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized whitish head. The aroma mild floral and herbal hops with lightly toasted cereal grains. The flavor is light and bready with the typical Pilsner malt, a touch biscuity, decent floral and herbal hop presence, crisp sessionable beer. Just not my style.

Originally reviewed: 11/12/10. Bottle poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a clear very dark gold with a huge foamy white head on top. Great retention; left some lace behind. The nose is full of citrus notes, most notably: lemon zest and lime. Some grassy herbal tones in there as well. There’s complexity to it, but it’s fairly tame. The mouth is pretty full for a Pilsner. Good carbonation level. Refreshing finish. Flavors full of lemon, breads, grassy hops, and a fresh clean zip on the back end. Pretty lively beer here. This is perfectly drinkable. I wish I had more. Refreshing, tasty, satisfying. Great beer.

Bottle 500ml.

Unclear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, vegetables, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120320]
