Sample at Vini Birri, shared with Mathieu87 and 77ships. APPEARANCE: clear brown beer. NOSE: anise. TASTE: anise and herbs.

77ships (14204) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 8, 2014
750 ml. bottle sampled @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli 2014. Clear amber, bubbles on the side. Nose is very herbal, lots of star anise, spices, sweet, Christmas spices. Taste is dominated by star anis of which I am not a fan, bitter, herbal, liquorish,… Substantial body. Not my preferred flavours but decent for what it is.

Bottle sample @ Vini, Birre, Ribelli ’14, Bruxelles.

Embrouille (2855) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 15, 2010
Bottled 75cl. Courtesy of Laurent Mousson. A surprising amount of cinnamon in the nose which is pleasant. Dissapointing taste. Faint menthol and cardamom in the finish.

3.2
Bov (14987) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 15, 2010
courtesy of Laurent Mousson and Marjorie Jacobi - hazy ruby-amber colour with a creamy beige head; long lasting; aroma of cinnamon and ginger; medium-bodied and pretty sweet, quite chewy on the tongue; residual sugars and more long spicy notes along with some bitterness and a touch of mint
