COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hoppy Birthday is known as “The world’s most celebrated beer.” A Pale Ale, it benefits from a heavy dose of dry-hopping and is truly a gift to the senses. This bold brew has an intense hop-bitterness, but the pine aroma is the star of the show. With a “world-class” ranking from BeerAdvocate, you should definitely enjoy Hoppy Birthday more than once a year.

Davhgbrew (1071) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 15, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2019 Knew nothing of this brew. Found at a little mini mart in Ballard, last bottle for $2.59. Golden color, resinous piney hop aroma. Flavor is similar to the aroma. Full bodied with a bit of a silky palate. Strong hop flavor and bitterness, but the relatively low abv. at 5.3 make this sessionable. Because of the low abv, but the big bold hop flavor that last throughout I would reach for this one again.

kraddel (10780) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - AUG 14, 2018
Pours rather clear blonde, small white head. Smell is bit resinous, very mild oxidation notes. Taste is bit to far gone in terms of oxidation. The freshness is already lost. Some resinous hops remain, and the beer doesn't taste like cardboard yet. However, I feel this one doesn't shine anymore the way it should.

Lovely fruitiness with nice pine kick, some grapefruit, herbal aspect. Moderate bitter all the way with quite dry finish

Saeglopur (3421) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JUL 8, 2018
355 ml bottle.
Golden-amber, clear body, with a medium, fluffy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of pine needles, grapefruit, passion fruit, guava, some biscuit.
Tastes similar, a bit less fruity.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes crisp, dry, bitter, piney, zesty, medium fruity, subtly sweet.

Tasty. Crisp, fresh and very well balanced, with lovely pine notes throughout, supported by tropical fruits and just enough malt body. Beautiful, old-school SIPA.
