fiery1 (4609) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 6, 2019UPDATED: OCT 6, 2019 250ml bottle @ home. 2012 Vintage? Pours an opaque dark brown colour with no head. Nose is rich, bourbon barrels, light roasted malt, and molasses. Flavour is also quite rich, dark chocolate, nice bourbon, touch of leather, licorice, and a trailing wood character. Full bodied, no carbonation, and a moderate sweetness with a smooth alcohol finish. Very well put together and has held on well for its age.
juiceisloose (3846) - Windermere, Florida, USA - JUN 3, 2019UPDATED: JUN 3, 2019 Entering in old ratings. 33cl bottle. Pours a very dark brown almost black with mahogany hue and topped by a thin beige ring of bubbles. Looks fairly flat in the glass. The aroma shows notes of rich dark chocolate, fudge brownies, earthy roast, and mocha up front over a dark roasted malt base with hints of bourbon, charred oak, and vanilla from the wood. The flavor follows suit with notes of rich, dark chocolate, fudge, and earthy roast up front and followed by notes of toasted caramel, bourbon, toasted oak, and woody vanilla with a balancing hop bitterness on the back end. The bitterness is quite evident from the significant hopping, which makes this very different from most imperial stouts. Full bodied, smooth, and almost slick on the palate with soft csrbonation that leads to a dark chocolate, bourbon soaked oak, and toasted vanilla finish with lingering notes of roast that helps dry things out. Really well made and tasty imperial stout. Glad I had the chance to try this.

Mad_Ferret (1091) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 22, 2018Vintage 2011 (Brewed in 2010 and bottled in february 2011). 180 ml bottle @ home. Bottle number 346. Waxed. Clear bottle.
No sound when cap goes off.
Pours absolutely flat dark brown/black. Big lumps at the bottom.
Aroma is smooth bourbon and peat mixed with a nice stout aroma of licorice, soy, damp leaves and burnt wood. It has stood the test of time quite remarkably.
Taste is smooth and sweet with a slight roasted bourbon finish. Coffee, licorice, soy, tobacco, smooth bourbon and just a hint of dried dark fruit. Some alcohol warmth at the end.
Full body, flat carbonation and a slick oily texture.
I actually expected this one to have tilted over to be over aged but it has held up remarkably. Slight tendency of damp forest and then the lumps at the bottom, but that was to be expected. I think De Molen was on top of their game when it game to stouts around this time.
Biroholik (4749) - Sosnowiec, Poland, POLAND - JAN 23, 2018 Brouwerij de Molen - Hel & Verdoemenis Misto (Bourbon Barrel Aged) Vintage 2013
Alkohol: 11% obj.
Ekstrakt: 24% wag.
EBU: 102
EBC: 297
Chmiele: Premiant, Saaz
Data butelkowania: 28.01.2013
Kolor: Czarny, nieprzejrzysty.
Intensywny bourbon, mocna wanilia, czekoladki kokosowe, migdały.
Niesamowicie gładki, pijalny, bogaty smakowo i intensywny zapachowo.
