brianza_ale (230) - ITALY - MAR 19, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 19, 2020 37.5cl, vintage 2017, from visit to Lost Abbey San Marcos. Pours minimal to small head, pitch black appearance. Smells like a 20yr port wine, buttery caramel, sherry notes again, sweet wooden barrel. Tastes again like very fine aged wine, nice touches of cocoa and dark chocolate, liquor notes background, . Medium to medium plus sweetness, agin medium and quite a bit more pronounced bitterness, long finish with wine, fine distilled and sweet roast; this is a finely balanced beer but it is also very tasty and rich. Medium bodied with wine reminiscent body and character, low to minimal carbonation, slick oil aged consistency. An incredible mix between a dark imp. stout, a full barely wine, with scotch/strong ale vibes, smooth and nicely blended with fine wine cognac port character, that you almost forget it's a beer.

coachd (2863) - O'Fallon, Missouri, USA - JAN 19, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2020 Rich port wine like aroma with some chocolate, butterscotch and heavy oak. Very pretty dark ruby color with no head. Hot up front, followed by sweeter notes from the aroma, finishing with oak and more heat. This bottle is over 18 months old, so it really packs a punch. Nice full palate. Very well blended, very well balanced. Great.

JPDIPSO (6618) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 14, 2019
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2019 Very opaque, dark brown color with a taller than expected head (based on the pop of the cork). Rich looking mocha looking head. Aromas are bit boozy, with scents of toasted to roasted malts, atop of bourbon and brandy barrels. Plenty of stewed dark fruit, with plum, prunes and raisins. This smells like I will be sitting with it quite a while. Very smooth start. Not quite as sweet as I imagined from the scents. Some light fruit followed by a chocolate liqueur mild roasted malt. Hints of alcohol. Rich and thick feel. Long linger of stewed fruit which then dries out to oak and black malt. Nice fireside sipper. Picks up some spice qualities as it warms, with white pepper, coriander, and hint of cumin.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2019 Olesosa, sin espuma. Barrica, bourbon, entrada dulce que se vuelve licorosa y seca. Compleja, torrefacta, madera empapada en licor. Batch 2014. Brutal!

scirtes (1034) - POLAND - APR 30, 2019
UPDATED: APR 30, 2019 Aromat świetny - czerwone owoce, rodzynki, daktyle i wyraźna beczka. W smaku gorzej, wyraźnie wyczuwalny alkohol i dzieje się mniej, niż obiecywał aromat. Jest dobrze, ale jednak poniżej oczekiwań.
