6 Monate in Bourbon Whiskey Fässern

rand (2170) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 17, 2017
Bottle 0,75 l / Aldi - Gals (CH). Amber and oily beer practicaly without foam. Aromas of wet cereals, Whisky, caramel, precooked bread. The taste is flat, cereals, sucrosity, wood-Whisky. Evolved beer but not favorably with notes of wet hay, overripe fruits and oxidation. Yet not out of date. Undrinkable, it's a shame.

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Thanks to Jan. Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and dry, decent fine carbonation. Nice light malts with a decent creamy sweetness. Good smooth bourbon barrel. Smooth spicy finish. Simple but rather nice.

Bottle split at Kenny 20K, thanks to Jan, 15/01/16. Rich chestnut brown with a decent beige cap. Nose is rich malt, dark fruit, light boubon trace, banana esters, peppery spice. Taste comprises toffee, sweet malt, watered down JD & Coke, faint spice, banana loaf, hint of yeast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Drinks below the ABV but doesn’t offer much depth for it, very simple barrel.

Shared bottle at home. Pours clear copper with off-white has that disappears quickly. Aroma of oak, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, dark dried fruits, some roasted notes. Tastes a little bit sweet with some fruity sourness, some umami. Medium bodied, highly carbonated. Nice and well balanced.

Scopey (19303) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - JAN 21, 2016
Bottle at MadMitch76 20K tasting, thanks to Jan. It pours hazy deep red – brown with minimal head. The nose is rich, sweet, oily, candy, toffee, honeyed fruit and vanilla perhaps. The taste is rich, oily, sweet, wood, leather, umami character, dried fruits, candied peel, plum, fig, earth and big alcohol boost through the finish. Medium – full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A touch hot and sweet, but overall good for the style.

ElDesmadre (4445) - Mikołów, POLAND - JAN 21, 2016
Draught. Full caramelly body with notes of nuts and dried fruit, with tart, vinous notes providing the balance and wood, vanilla and bourbon providing the excellence. Its strength is noticeable but in a classy way. Superb stuff.
