COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flora(Barrel aged Wheat Saison) is our Wheat Saison (Florence), brewed with Butterworks Farm Organic Vermont Winter Wheat, aged for 8 to 14 months in French Oak wine barrels and complimented by the terroir of our resident microflora... Batch 1: Corked. Blend of barrels. Batch 2: Gold Cap. No cork. Blend. Batch 3: Silver cap. Blend of barrels. Inoculated with culture from our coolship experiments. Batch 4: #4 written in box. Batch 5: Dated. Batch 4: Silver cap. Same brew day/batch as Flora 3 - but the beer progressed/rested longer in the barrels.

Aroma is lemon, funk, grass, oak, white wine, slight spice, some minerals, and a touch of stone fruit. Taste is subtle and lightly tart; lemon, stone fruit, funk, oak, some florals, and white wine. Clean finish. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Rich, creamy-ish mouthfeel. The wheat feels way more subdued than in Florence.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2019 Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color ale with a large foamy head. Aroma of funky Brett notes with some tartness, oak and light acidity notes also perceptible. Taste is a mix of funky Brett notes, oak, tart notes with subtle acidic notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Interesting saison with right amount of complexity.
