UPDATED: DEC 10, 2022 250ml bottle pours out black topped with a brown head. Nose is sweet caramel toffee chocolate cognac booze. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts chocolate ash cognac lots going on.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2022 20May2021 Massive, dark roast malts, sweet oak, cognac, burnt chocolate cake. Hazy, very dark brown, small,creamy, beige head. Light bitter. Intense dark malts, cacao, dark chocolate, toasted bread, cognac, soft carb, full bod. Outstanding, rich, complex, balanced. Bottle shared at Cloin's.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2021 Deep black colour, brown foam. Nose of roasted malts, coffee, syrup, cognac, some vinous notes and dark chocolate. Roasty, bitter and a sweet cognac aftertaste. World class stout!

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2021 Bottle split at the Grand Reunion Tasting at MM, Big thanks to Dave, 20/05/21. Black with a good sized tan cap that clears to a swirl. Nose is dark chocolate, spice, dried fruits, vinous, nice barrel layer, umami, roasted tones. Taste comprises chocolate, cognac splash, dried fruits, charr, bitter roast, crystalised brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, balanced rising boost. Solid stuff ... holding up very well.

Aroma is big meaty roast, metal, cakey malts, liquorice, meaty roast. Flavour is composed of umami, meaty roast, bitter roast, big bitter burnt cake, metal,. Paalte is medium bodied, mellow carbonation.. Big, super rich.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2021 Bottle by way of trade. Pours black with a dirty tan head. Aroma is molasses, treacle, cognac barrel, hazelnut. Taste is cognac, molasses, chocolate, hazelnut, loads of booze on finish but we'll balanced in. Lovely

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2020 Bottle 2017. Pours black with a beige head. Aromas of Cognac, leather, chocolate, dried fruit and caramel. Flavours of dried fruit, caramel, coffee, licorice, chocolate and of course Cognac. Oily texture. Full body. Excellent!

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2020 Bottle at a tasting, huge thanks to Owen. Darkest brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is awesome, smooth roast, dark chocolate, cognac, honey. Very well balanced flavor. Slightly sweet smooth chocolate and roast, light coffee, cognac, honey sweetness, light bitterness. Medium plus body, quite drinkable although the bottle is tiny so what does it matter?
