500 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. Picked this beauty up at the Spar attached to Graz Hauptbahnhof. Oh boy. The pour is a darker golden yellow with a thicker white head that falls to a creamy thick ring with a couple spots of lace. The aroma is really Czech pils forward. The malts and graininess are huge. Light bready grain and sweet malt. The light aluminum comes through late. The flavor is more bready malt forward. There isn’t any metallic, which is nice. Anlight bitterbuoo is present, and it’s surprisingly better than I thought it would be. It’s got an alcohol sweetness on the back end that is strange. The mouth feel is light and clean with a decent carbonation and a lingering malty sweetness. It’s better than I thought it would be. For science, I guess. ebone1988 (1857) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JUN 25, 2017

Piwo barwy złotej, idealnie klarowne. Piana średnio obfita, drobne i średnie pęcherzyki, niezbyt trwała. Aromat niezbyt wyraźny, lekka nuta słodu pilzneńskiego, bardzo delikatny diacetyl. W smaku nieco puste, dosyć wytrawne, z subtelną nutą słodową. Mocno wysycone, brak goryczki. pbright (8) - Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2017 does not count
I spend several weeks each year in the Czech Republic and enjoy the beers a lot (I find that you are less likely to go wrong with a Czech lager than those from anywhere else - even though British ale is my usual choice). Budvar is, of course, one of the iconic and most widely known, brewed with whole Saaz hops. Newcomers will probably find it a bit watery and disappointing, particularly in comparison with the more characterful Pilsner Urquell - Budvar lacks the bitterness and length of that classic. Nevertheless, there are few beers more quenching on a hot and sunny day. It is a great session beer - clean and pure.
Appearance: straw coloured; large but rapidly disappearing white head.
Aroma: very subtle; cereal in there somewhere.
Palate: mainly smooth and honeyed but with detectable edge (particularly at the front of the mouth); Fast disappearing aftertaste.
Flavour: Honey, grass and cereals; flowery; good balance of bitterness and sweetness. TomHendriksen (497) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 24, 2017
Fles gedeeld met Roelzie1986. Het is een pils achtig bier met redelijk wat schuim. DonGregorio (375) - POLAND - MAY 24, 2017
Bottle. Clear golden colour, average, quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of pale malt, bread and skunk. Taste is light sweet, light to medium bitter, pale malt, bread, grain. Light+ body, thin, watery texture, average carbonation. Macro lager, but fairly drinkable. saintbase (716) - Bydgoszcz, POLAND - MAY 20, 2017
