UPDATED: JUN 19, 2020 Lawson's Sunshine is a staple here in New England, and my go-to IPA if I'm in the mood for something strong. That's why I was surprised to see a Double IPA version. It ups the ABV by about half a percentage point, but takes some of that brighter, happier notes and brings it down a few notes to be sweeter and a little stickier. It's strong, but still well balanced and intense. This is a good 'last beer of the night' and only with a DD, but the strength delivers some tasty hop notes without being burly or clumsy.

Handypaul (626) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 27, 2020
UPDATED: APR 27, 2020 Pours clear golden brown with a fully-lasting, white, creamy, 1-finger head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma of pine, tropical fruit and citrus. Big resinous flavor. medium body, lightly bitter dry finish, hints of roasted nuts, excellent balance between sweet up front and a bitter finish, thick syrupy to oily mouthfeel. Excellent.

canary dog (831) - Rutland, Vermont, USA - APR 19, 2020
UPDATED: APR 19, 2020 Thick, heavy, malty sweetness comingles with the considerable west coast hops. The 8% abv is well hidden. This is good, but not at all like the newer breed of juicier, mellower DIPAs.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2019 Clear golden. Pine, spruce tips, fairly sweet, acacia wood. Soft, smooth. Excellent.

tfontana (2753) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 27, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 27, 2019 Taster pour on tap at NH Brewfest. Appearance is lightly hazy piss yellow (not unattractive--almost highlighter yellow) with light sparkle, thin covering of white foamy head. Aroma is very strong citrus, grapefruit, pine. Taste is like aroma--strong grapefruit, with piney resin bitterness, less citrus. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, smooth, frothy texture, lively kick of carbonation at the end and finish as taste with a lingering piney resin bitterness. Overall, it's strong all around--strong aroma and flavor and you can tell there's some booze here but not harsh. 4.0 ish

boto (2444) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - OCT 18, 2019
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2019 16 oz. can from Brewery (also sampled at Brewery): this one pours a cloudy slightly orange tinted golden color. Minimal head and lacing. The nose is good. A mixture of many hops with none overpowering the other. Tropical, pine, citrus and some floral/herb notes. A little muted from what I expected. The taste is wonderful. A plethora of different hops, all well balanced against one another. Some dank hops, with tropical, pine, citrus and maybe a bit of some herb flavors. Now real sweetness to this, just a bit of a dank hop bite. A really excellent beer.
