UPDATED: MAR 25, 2019 Thin head of tan bubbles that reduces to a nice this sheen of foam. Mild bittersweet chocolate, toasted nuts, candied fruit and a bit of molasses in the aroma. Color is a very dark brown. Body is a bit thinner than expected. More bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit, sweet malts, ash and a hint of the tart cranberry. Minimal alcohol presence. Finishes dark roasted grains and a bit of gritty ash. A decent stout but nothing special. Leighton (26706) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 2018
Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2017 - cheers all! Pours deep brown with a creamy, khaki head. The nose suggests mild oxidation, dry chocolate, light roast. Light sweet flavour, earthy, burnt toast, milk chocolate, woody dryness. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet finish, some simple chocolate notes. Fine. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate cake, berry fruits, blackcurrant, fruit cake, spice, toffee, roast malts.
Medium boided, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Tidy enough impy and drinks below the ABV. talisencrw (81) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 8, 2018
This was a really solid and spectacular experience for me. I knew I liked stouts, but I don't have a sweet tooth, so I hesitated both because it's 8% AND double chocolate cranberry, though the cranberry aspect appealed to me--I haven't had that in a beer before. I was very pleased that though it was subtly flavourful, it was neither too sweet nor overpoweringly cocoa, and that the cranberry was a very delicate nuance. I'll definitely look for more of their brews, and a tip of my fedora to whoever designed the excellent logo for it. azzurro (1051) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2018
Had this one with family after our Christmas meal. A very good stout to taste with family.

Muskoka Winter Beard 2016 8%
A double chocolate cranberry stout my cousin picked up and held on for me. Much appreciated it's perfect for a winters Montreal day!
Deep cola black with a wispy tan head and ruby highlights. The aroma is luscious chocolate but not much cranberry. Full bodied and smooth, the taste is chocolate, licorice, roastedness and tangy chocolate covered cranberries in the finish.
Really good stuff and by far the best Muskoka Brewery beer I've had.

The_Osprey (10532) - WALES - JUL 16, 2017
Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Bottle share at Cotts under the marquee in the torrential rain. Big thanks to Dave for bringing this. As ’Muskoka Winter Beard Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout’, 8%. Black with a red hue, foamy light brown head. Aroma is cola and toffee, white chocolate, a bit papery. Body is light, tingly carbonation, frothy. Taste is papery, woody and spicy, some white chocolate. A little on the thin side for the ABV I thought. Pours opaque black with a tight, 1-finger tan head. Lots of bubbling along the glass. Deep aroma of chocolate with just a touch of cranberry. Body is medium-to-full with a touch of oil. Finish is long, but mild. Flavor of chocolate that is lightened by a touch of tart cranberry. A touch of a burnt note at the back.
