mountdad (763) - Mount Maunganui, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 10, 2021UPDATED: FEB 10, 2021 500ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gold with an enthusiastic but short lived white head. Aroma is a vibrant wheat beer; depending on temperature you can get cloves, banana, bread, vanilla & that unique yeast. It is light bodied & easy to drink with a underlying sweetness that may put some off but all the wheat beer characteristics are here. As per the 15 IBU there is no real bitterness & I can't find the tart taste others mention. Maybe DB have tuned it out since buying Tuatara? An affordable & widely available way to try this style of beer. When the humidity is up at 90% it's a refreshing, if simple beer to enjoy. Good.

Overall: Good combination of flavours, but the mix does not work. The beer has a 'sharpness' that should not be there. This should be a smooth, easy drinking beer. Malty/bready notes are missing. Yeast presence is good.
