This limited-edition winter brew will make its debut in October, but this winter celebration ale is worth the wait. Malted barley and chocolate tones define the traditional style, while the robust aroma and long, mellow finish will make this the perfect companion for your holiday adventures.

[Best before: 7.XI.16] Pleasant aroma of dark bread with plumy background, some notes of honey and toffee cake. Cloudy dark copper in the glass with a medium tan head. Taste is semi dry with balanced notes of roastiness, some tobacco ashy hints with scratches of dark bread with pleasant dried plums and some minimal honey. Very nice.

kraddel (9331) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JAN 4, 2018
Pours dark caramelly copper, very dark brown. Small layer of white head. Smell is bit dry, sweet, complex but unintense backbone ( earthy , caramel,..) Taste is medium bitter, caramel, rather sharp (the low fermentation, probably ) mild cocoa tones underneath the much stronger caramel. Dark bread, breadcrusts ( rather intensely so ) . medium body, medium to medium high carbo. The intensity of taste is medium.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 Pours cloudy, dark mahogany with little head. Aroma is caramel and molasses. Taste is plum, sweet toffee and roast. Finish is bitter, which throws things off. An interesting doppelbock.

Ysok02 (1913) - Mons, BELGIUM - DEC 31, 2017

Bottle pours chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel, light nuts and cocoa, some dried fruits. Flavor is somewhat sweet, touch of fruit and earth. Medium full feel, average carbonation. Above average but not memorable.

Ratman197 (15620) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 28, 2017
Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of tobacco, earthiness, light toffee and a hint of dried fruit. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness and light tobacco with a smooth dry lingering caramel finish.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2017 Nice bock beer not overly christmas. Which is good in my book malty and a little clove/cinnamon on the palate.

Cimbasso (1056) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2017
Sampled from a bottle at the Mar Bar on the harbour at Rekyavik. Dark colour with a tan head. Very sweet with notes of chocolate and liquorice. Quite good mouthfeel, but not really enough bitterness to offset the overwhelming sweetness.
