UPDATED: APR 7, 2019 Deep amber pour, tan head with good retention. Nose of molasses and brown sugar. First taste has some roasty, burnt dark malt notes and a nice nutty sweetness up front. Slightly sticky caramel flavor. A touch too watered down for my liking. Not bad, but there are much better Samuel Smith's offerings out there... BarrelTapper31 (138) - RUSSIA - MAR 31, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2019 Good, but my expectations were certainly higher after the brilliant Organic Chocolate Stout. Something persisted, though - it's still too watery! Smell is reminiscent of namesake nuts, but in the taste they're nowhere to be found. Slightly creame. vcsa (141) - - MAR 24, 2019

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2019 This is one of the first breweries I got into when starting to drink craft. For some reason, I missed this review. Maybe I was waiting until I got this again to review fresh. Anyways, been about 2-3 years since I had this, but recall it to be one of my favorite brown ales. On the thicker side for the style. Semi-creamy texture. Medium-brown appearance. Nutty flavors balanced very well with the malts/hop combo. Now that I am reading the other reviews, going to go this direction next time I go brown...not so much to get a refresher to my memory, but mainly because this is one of the best browns around.
