COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The arrival of hops to the brewing scene in England in the 1500’s led to a moral panic. Hops were condemned as a “wicked and pernicious weed”, one which would lead to the erosion of social and moral standards. Thank goodness they were right. Here’s hoping that our homage to the original pernicious weed continues this gradual decline. Organic Rakau and whole cone Nelson Sauvin go head to head in this strong, golden, hoppy brew. Bitter, yes. Intensely hoppy, absolutely. Too much, never.

StuffWine (385) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAR 3, 2024
UPDATED: MAR 3, 2024 Pours a clear deep amber with short white head. Aroma super sweet passion fruit, touch vegetal hidden in background. Taste is malt forward, herbal backbone, light grapefruit wave, then weeds skunk fading. Medium body, touch oily mouthfeel, long finish. Solid strong brew with much to keep interest.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2022 Usually like to try more Garage Project beers while I'm in NZ, but this was one of the few in 2022. Dark and dense, with pretty intense tropical fruit character and more than a little bitterness. Too much for Mackenzie, but I was a fan.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2021 330ml can. Pours a clear, deep amber with a small white head. Aroma is quite pronounced with pine & a bit of citrus to the fore. Beer is medium bodied with a solid malt base, moderate to high bitterness & loads of hops. Not that sweet despite the ABV but this is all about the hops. One for the hopheads but too hoppy for me..

KeefOz (3843) - TARRAGINDI, AUSTRALIA - DEC 15, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2020 BB 06/02/2021. From a can poured a clouded amber with 1cm of off-white open foam that retained well before diminishing to a collar that laced OK. Carbonation extremely rare, very slow and coarse. Aroma moderately strong of citrus (sweet mandarin) and resinous pine with hints of malt; alcohol well hidden. Taste is moderate to strong grapefruit and pine; very hoppy with a malt balance to gives a moderate to high bitterness and a nice hoppy 'bite'; alcohol well hidden. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, clean, refreshing and dry with a lingering finish. One to sip and savour.
