from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - dark red-amber beer under a huge beige foam; solid aroma of mango and pears; some sweetness and a light sourness; medium-bodied, long fruity finish (more mango and peaches and some residual sweetness - not bad at all

bottle from Maison de la Bière Reims. Golden colour, white head. Fruity nose. Malty base, quite dry, with dry hops and tropical fruit. Not too sweet.

Very fruity aroma, huge passion fruit, but also raspberry, apple compote, strawberry jam. However, not chemical at all so for once this actually works quite nicely. No hop presence though and a light pilsner and vienna malt. Fruity taste too, with a light bitterness, not as nice or complex as the aroma. The label strangely upsets me though. The English names puts you on the wrong track already but its the description (’trappist style’) and vague ingredients list (’natural extracts’) that make me think this isn’t made for the love of beer, but for the sake of producing something. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as the other beer I tried from this brewer does reveal some knowledge. I can’t appreciate this much though. It’s just not for me.

tkrjukoff (4337) - SWEDEN - MAR 26, 2012
Bottle 33 cl, le Fleur de Malt. Pours clear coppery amber with a huge beigish head leaving lots of lace. Aroma is very nice, sweet, malty, very fruity, apples, grapes, fidges, apricots and some nuttyness as well. Flavor is fruity as aroma, malty, sweet, a bit acidy, has some phenolic tones in the middle together with more distinct fruit flavors, good bitterness not taking over. Finishes longlived fruity sweet and bitter.

Tasted on from 75 cl. bottle @ 2de Gents Bierfestival 20.08.2011. Hazy amber color, with off-white head. Aroma: fruits, hops, sweetness. Medium body. Taste: fruits, sweet, some hops, little bitter. Good fruits finish.

Small head; copper-orange beer. Very aromatic, flowery & fruiity, if not delivering a real fruitpunch. Some hops too, not spoiling anythint. Hops, but old ones, and dried flowers. Retronasal, the aromas from the nose return. Bit watery MF, but slick. Aftertaste strengthens the flavours agaiN. Pity about the main taste, which disappoints immediately after the impressive nose. But then again, it reassembles itself.

20/08/2011 75cl @ 2de Gents Bierfestival (2011-404)

Taste: sweet malty start, toast, fruity, bit of hops, some spices (cloves). Aftertaste: citrus, little bitter, bit faint, ripe bananas and some chocolate.
