Cask at The Market Tavern, Durham, £3.55/pint.
Very dark brown beer with a smooth, creamy, off-white head. The nose is muted but comes across sweetish with some biscuit and bready malt character. The taste too is all malt, biscuity, rounded and comforting. A good beer for a cold January evening.
