COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We have taken a traditional Scottish-style Ale, with its rich malt characteristic reminiscent of dark fruits, and deepened it's flavor with the addition of cherry wood smoked malt. This beer features a full body alongside drinkability - a rare commodity. We enjoy this beer throughout the long, snowy winters of Central Wisconsin. You should, too! Initially 5.2%.

Mpuntmuts (669) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 28, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2019 Dark ruby/brown pour with a thin off white head that slowly dissipates. Roasted malts, burnt sugar and something that's hard to describe. Not nasty but just something I can't put my finger on. Softly sweet and bitter, bit on the weak side actually. Black licorice comes through but really weak. Medium bodied, medium Co2. Not really outspoken this one. Okay. Edit : After warming up a little bit of dried fruits and caramel comes through. Bumps the score up a little.

MarcoDL (9592) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 20, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2019 Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of caramelised malt, caramel fudge, raisin, vanilla and figs, really nice. Taste has sticky caramel fudge, caramelised malt, dates, figs, raisin, vanilla and some bitter hopping for balance. How is there so much flavor in such a seemingly simple beer.

Dark brown colour with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have lots of sweet malts and sweet dried fruits. Very light roasted bitterness.

flatearthman (179) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - NOV 19, 2018
Very light sweet malt nose; minimal head with lace; chestnut brown hue; brisk back throat carbonation with a medium mouthfeel; taste is like a brown ale but a candi sweetness, a bit of smoke & a tiny bit of dark cherry that finishes with saliva forming dark bitterness.

shigadeyo (4029) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2018
3/06/2018 (12 fl oz bottle): Aroma is malty with caramel hard candy, bread crust; dark brown, auburn highlights, minimal beige crown, very attractive look in the glass; flavor includes rich caramel and toffee maltiness maltiness, a hint of smoke, dried fruits, hint of cherry, black tea, earthy and slightly citrus finish with some toasted wood and char, medium body, smooth and calm mouthfeel; very, very good beer, quite excellent, actually!

Sláinte has a medium, beige head, a semi-clear, red (brown, with light shining on it) appearance, and no glass lacing. Aroma is of rich, spiced, brown, holiday breads, and the flavor is of the same, with cherry, brown sugar, a touch of chocolate, a touch of syrup, and essentially nonexistent bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Sláinte finishes midway wet/dry. RJT

It pours dark mahogany with a tan head. The aroma is light with caramel, toffee and more rich maltiness than usual. It has a medium body that’s rich for the style. It is much richer than normal for the style with deep toasted malt and aroma notes. Really now.

sawbuck (1322) - Round Lake, Illinois, USA - FEB 23, 2017
Aroma of sweet rich malt, caramel, Reddish dark brown color with an off white head. Sweet up front. Brown sugar, caramelized caramel, some smoky char also. Bitterness is dry and faint. Echo of sweetness comes in again on the finish. Sweetness coats your throat as it goes down. Slightly slick mouth feel. Not bad, but a bit too sweet.

3.5
drpimento (7530) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 15, 2017
Appearances soul soul with an opaque black brown color small short-lived head no less. Aroma is mild, malty and traditional Scotch ale. Flavor is like nose. Body is okay but carbonation is a little fizzy. Finish is decent.
