UPDATED: FEB 18, 2021 Gold pour, white head. Aroma of grass, flowers, lemon. Taste follows, hoppy but with biscuits and crackers backing it up nicely.

Ernest (8835) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 1, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2021 Bottle (Dec 16, 2020 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (guava, lime, flowers, melon), with a light note of onion. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation. A bit acidic and stark in the mouth, but the aroma is better than usual for Simcoe (which usually smells awful). Figured this would be terrible but it's totally drinkable.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2021 Re-rating as this beer is much more vibrant on the second time. Maybe it is more fresh. Both the aroma, flavor and mouthfeel really jump out on this. Grapefruit and rind are HUGE! Rating from 10/31/20 - From bottle to glass. Grapefruit aroma and slight biscuit. Clear light gold with white head. Flavor is grapefruit and cracker malt.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2020 500 mL bottle poured, shared by Tcon. Thanks! Quite the fun California haul! Soft cloudy golden pour, rocky foam head. Smooth taste, well balanced grains and grassy hops. Really flavorful hop linger. Excellent Simcoe showcase, and another solid hoppy Russian River offering. I miss traveling.

Cristobal37 (2204) - Tustin, California, USA - JAN 16, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2020 On tap at Tustin Brewing. Pours golden. Fruity, piney, melon aroma. Taste is sappy, malty, strong bitter hops on a manageable pale ale. Finish is big lasting hops. It's a trip that it's not a heavy beer but the flavor is really full and long lasting. Fantastic pale ale.
