UPDATED: JAN 17, 2020 L’Orval vert servi à la pression au restaurant qui se trouve à quelques mètres de l’abbaye. Une bière exclusive et excellente !

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 got this at the abbey cafe with two other beers and cheese. Of the three this was my favorite, it is lower abv than their bigger dubble common beer. this one is light yet hoppy with spicey notes, citrus and sweet. paired with the cheese this was great!

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2019 Clear, golden-amber colored, medium white frothy head, rather lasting. Aroma is pale malt, bit biscuit, plenty of spicy, herbal hops with some citrus notes. Taste is medium- sweet malt, light biscuit, moderate hoppy spicy, herbal and citrus notes, medium+ bitterness, bit yeasty, dry finish. Light+ bodied, average carbonation, watery. Belgian Session IPA comes to mind... No Brett whatsoever.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2019 Tap at À L’Ange Gardien. Slightly unclear amber with white head. Nose is hoppy. Grainy malts, hay, floral notes of hopbells, grassiness, soft fruitiness and dry yoghurt yeastiness. Soft sweet and grainy, medium to quite strong earthy herbal bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Regular Orval is much better but this is also a very nice beer to drink fresh, very tasteful, refreshing and a nice rural herbal grassy vibe to it. Wish I could take a bottle home to drink during an outdoor picknick.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2019 On tap at the only place it can be, L'ange guardian in Orval. Aroma is so so nondescript. Appearance is murky gold with Orval carbonation. Taste is somewhere between an Orval and a seasoned English golden. It's decent but nothing mind blow8ng. Hope the monks enjoy it in this amazing Abbey.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2018 ofwel groene Orval genoemd, slechts 4,5° alc , ook wel het bier van de paters genoemd. Hier wordt geen hergisting gebruikt en op die manier blijft het alcohol gehalte wat steken.

EvNa (2168) - Ede, NETHERLANDS - JUL 23, 2018
Draft at A l'Ange Gardien. Color: Clear amber, nice thick long lasting white head. Taste: Fruity with a good amount of hopbitterness, notes of lemon and the orval bretty yeast. Medium body, average carbonation. Dry fruity and hoppy palate at finish. Nice one.
