mrjaxson (1146) - .08 Junction, WI, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 8, 2020
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2020 This one was an excellent conclusion to a night of pizza and beer on a Midwestern midsummer night patio. Chocolate maltiness and rye spices in the nose. Taste is smoothly sweet with incredible balance considering all the hopiness about. Long, smooth, sweet finish. This half-litter bottle had been waiting in the beer fridge for at least a few years and, unfortunately, had no bottling date on the label or bottle. A great porter.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2020 Bottle aged 3,5 years (bottled 09.08.2016, best before date 09.08.2020). APPEARANCE: Dark as a moonless night, coffee coloured black with brown edges. Medium short lived beige head. NOSE: French roasted Arabica coffee, cola, dark chocolate, liquorice, rye bread, fresh lemons. TASTE: Rather fruity for a porter, mild but noticeable rye spice character, medium to medium rich body, medium carbonation (fine mousse), slight sweetness on the mid palate. Dry and mildly spiced aftertaste, long. OVERALL: A different, lovely and very satisfying Porter.
