In short: A bitter resinous fruity hop bomb. For bitterness loversblankboy (8379) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 9, 2012
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark amber body topped by a very small beige head
In long: Nose is intensely resinous fruity hops. Taste has a plenty of soft creamy caramelized malts, a slice of fresh baguette covered with luscious caramel. But all that is overwhelmed by a truckload of resinous fruity hops. The bitterness level is through the roof and it is very very sticky. Very very long finish. Not the most aromatic hop bomb out there, but they went crazy on the bittering hopping. I had it again one month later and it had lost some of its oomph, but when fresh this was one of most bitter beer ever brewed in Quebec, and I love bitterness done right. I had this one for the first in one of the Cheval Blanc 25th anniversary tuesday parties, and it feels weird getting drunk on a tuesday, I mean, a strange feeling not hating everybody during a weekday.
Draught at Le Cheval Blanc, Montreal, June 8. Pours a hazy orange with a small diminishing white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, resiny hops and caramel malt. Flavour of resiny & herbal hops, pale malt, citrus fruit and a dry bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium+ bodied. Pretty good stuff. Aroma lovely citrus , dry clean cut hop aromas. Soft mellow malt wrap around.7+
Appearance poured as hazed amber with fine creamy cap.3+
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. Sweet malt based strong ale. Fairly low carbonation, chewy bitter citrus. Lighter notes on top. Lovely lasting semi-dry bitterness. Alcohol hidden under hop pile.
Golden orange topped by a small creamy white head. Aromas of red fruits, a bit of citrus. Medium body, lingering tangerine bite, finishes on the sweet side a little bit. Needs improvement, but a good straightforward 2PA.

[4488-20120608] Tap. Mild petrol grains aroma has a strange fruity note. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Grainy malt flavour has a bitter heavy citrus hops base. Medium body. Good, bit of a kick in the pants. (6/3/7/3/14) 3.3
