Voila une bière bien atypique ! En effet, pour réaliser cette succulente bière estivale, la Brasserie Thornbridge a utilisé près de 1000 concombres dans le processus de brassage. Visuellement, la Thornbridge Wye est séduisante, sa robe est claire, lumineuse, aux reflets dorés. Quant à sa mousse, il s'agit d'une petite tête blanche aérienne. Au nez, le bouquet est léger. Ce sont d'abord des arômes ronds et doux de malt qui se dévoilent. Puis ce sont les notes d'herbe fraîche et de concombre qui se démarquent à leur tour. Le nez est fidèle à ce que l'on retrouve en bouche. Effectivement, à la dégustation on découvre sous un corps aqueux des saveurs douces et très rafraîchissantes de malt, d'herbe, de citron et de concombre. UPDATED: MAR 6, 2018 Bottle at Oakham Social Club in Reading. Didn't honestly notice the cucumber much, just felt like a reasonably well balanced malty beer with some fruit in the finish. Decent.

330ml dark bottle, filtered. I don't like flavoured beers, and this is a good example of why. The aroma is disconcerting and frankly quite off-putting. I like cucumber. Chomping on a whole cucumber while alternately taking chunks out of a New Zealand Cheddar bought from Woolworths was one of the great pleasures in my life. But drinking cucumber juice is perhaps not one of life's highest moments. It's not something that people do. And this is perhaps why. It's not that nice. So putting cucumber juice into a beer is just a way of spoiling it. Leave the gimmicks alone. Just make good beer.

Golden color, white head with some retention. Aroma has notes of raw cereal and some sweet malts. Flavor is slightly sweet at the beginning, light maltiness; slightly bitterness in the final with light body.

Bottle, 31/12/17, thanks bluus. Pours a pale yellow with a small, white head. Aroma is grainy, slight flower, slight cucumber. Taste is grainy, slight cucumber. Not very good.

Bottle from Tesco. I thought I quite liked cucumber, but I think I'd better think again, about that. Slightly sickly, sweet/off vegetable taste. As someone else has remarked, this isn't a match made in heaven, dans le opinion de moi.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2017 Hmm, comment dire... une bière parfumée au concombre? Pourquoi pas! Même si les arômes de concombre se dégagent elle n'est toutefois pas à classer parmi les bizarreries. Peu forte. Peu amère.

Bottle from the Bumble Inn, Peterborough. Light yellow, close to straw. Clear with a little bit of visible carbonation. Light and slightly acrid aroma, some grass, some butter. Much improved taste bordering on glorious. The cucumber is at the forefront here, imparting an almost salty/savoury quality to the gentle bitter hop. Long cucumber salad aftertaste. High carbonation which lifts the entire beer. This is interesting stuff, marked down only by the odd aroma.
