from a supermarket in Morteau, France - quite clear brown beer with a little beige foam left; light toasted aroma of toffee; full-bodied, grainy and with an artificial sweetness, light sour, dry and harsh bitterness with long notes of caramel and butter

From trade with Erzengel, many thanks!

*Malzig-erdig, sehr sprudelig.

Pours very dark brown with. Aroma is malty, chocolate. Med body. Flavor is nutty, and there’s rather "creamy" chocolate.

Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass dark brown, huge head. Starts malty, quite roasty, some earthy-malty notes. Bitter background. Finish a bit unbalanced, metallically, a bit soapy. Okay.

couleur noire, forte mousse beige.

Brown colour, white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, soy sauce and apple. Light sour flavour, caramel and roasted malts. Very fizzy. Finish caramel. Not my favourite, but still it is nice to see craft beer emerging in the Alsace.
(From 33cL bottle @ RBBWG III, Tim’s place. Thanks for sharing, Rian!)

18/I/14 - 33cl bottle @ RBBWG III, my place - BB: n/a (2014-67) Thanks to Thirstybird for sharing the bottle!

Clear brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: bad, rotten fruits, some caramel, bit sugary, liquorice but overall a very unpleasant bad smell. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: grains, unpleasant bitterness, some liquorice, overripe fruits, caramel, some mocha, bitter touch (from the hops?). Aftertaste: little bitter, caramel. Oh boy... This makes us realise why we usually try to seek out the good stuff. :-)
