COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bird Dog uses only one hop variety, NZ Cascade, from the boil right through to its massive dry hopping. Single hopped beers really give an appreciation for the characters of that particular hop and The Brew Crew here at Emerson’s reckon Bird Dog showcases NZ Cascade beautifully. A copper coloured pale ale with huge amounts of NZ Cascade that has created a floral, spicy aromatic pale ale that smells as delicious as it tastes. The hop flavour is high with a firm bitterness that leaves a crisp finish. If you aren’t a ‘Hophead’ already this is the Emerson beer that might convert you!

UPDATED: APR 5, 2020 Draft. An amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, fruit, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, lemons, other fruits, and spices, leading to a bitter finish.

ElDesmadre (6867) - Jaworze, POLAND - MAR 22, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2020 Bottle. Chewy, sweetish, very bitter. Biscuits, herbal and earthy bitterness, floral, orange, apricot, light toffee. Flavourful, bold, refreshingly old school sort of mid-Atlantic IPA, despite its pedigree. Amazing stuff!

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2020 Don't know why these Emerson's keep surprising me, should know they are a quality brewer by now. 330ml bottle, big head that quickly shrinks. Pours a golden brown. Nose is hops, flavour is hops hops hops, and bitter. 7.0% so there's a kick, but it's smooth and drinkable. Sipping it with the album by The Verlaines playing in the background. Nice.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2019 Half a finger white head with good carbonation. The hop aroma is apparent the instant the cap comes off the bottle. Slighly hazy. You can taste the hops before you drink the bier. This bier is a quantum leap, a hop explosion, the nuclear weapon of biers. I still love 1812, but this bier is for special occasions. It makes someone, a bier lover happy to be alive. It is simply my favourite bier at least next to my other total favourites. I simply love this bier.

Bottle shared at Moons in Gore. Bit hazy amber with lasting off white head. Dry caramel malts, grassy and weedy hops, kiwi, light bready, soft white grapes, light dry apricot. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit light and dry feel. Classic style.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2018 Bu en bouteille 50cl. Verre étroit. Tête blanche avec une belle mousse, peu odorante. Au niveau du palais, goût malté pas désagréable mais pas extrêmement prononcé non plus. Forte amertume cependant. Très bon rapport qualité prix
