UPDATED: AUG 3, 2020 Aroma is tropic fruit lime star fruit guava pineapple and also toffee and caramel. Taste is the same sweet rich toffee with bitter star fruit and hops. Quite spiky on the tongue but the rich body accompanies it well. Good drinkability and very nice combination of flavours. Nice.

snowcrash000 (2268) - Cologne, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2020 Pours a cloudy golden amber coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and dank, herbal hops with notes of tangerine, mango and gooseberry. Taste is a good balance of biscuity, very slightly caramelly malt and quite fruity, dank, herbal, spicy and slightly floral hops, with notes of tangerine, mango and gooseberry. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some dank, herbal and gooseberry notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a amedium body and carbonation. This is really more of an IPA than a Pale, but strikes a very nice balance between the German and American varieties, being quite herbal, spicy, floral and fruity at the same time, with some rather nice peppery and citrus/tropical notes. Not your typical IPA, but rather a 'German IPA', perhaps, which Hopfenstopfer seems to specialize in and does rather well. Certainly a little unusual, but rather well done in my opinion, as I can really appreciate the interplay of German and American hops here.
