Cristobal37 (1851) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JAN 26, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2019 Can. Pours dark black with lasting head. Roasted malts, toast, caramel, prune aroma. Taste follows, balanced, mild bitterness, some dark chocolate as well. Dry finish with hints of alcohol. Good but not my favorite example from the style, nor from Beavertown.

berkshirejohn (7566) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 19, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2019 [33cl can from Waitrose.] An opaque black pour with a loose coffee coloured head; piney aroma with some brown sugar in the background; smooth and silky with a dry roasted malt flavour;; and some well balanced piney hops; then a sweet sugary finish with well hidden alcohol.

corkyrory66 (3645) - BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2019

blackradioboy (273) - SCOTLAND - JAN 10, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2019 Can from Waitrose. (£2-on offer) This is a solid Black IPA. It’s smooth, quite satisfying and doesn’t feel like a 7.4%. Goes down well.

SHIG (5916) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2018 Can: Poured a black brown with a tan head. Aroma was stale hops, malts some roast. Taste was little off to me with hops grassiness, roast and veggie.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2018 To me, this is the norm for a black IPA. I've tried a lot so far but they're all very thin & watery compared to this one. It's just perfect. They've changed the can from purple to yellow & blue ... I do hope they won't change the recipe or brewing process after the takeover!

Can, 330ml. Brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma has hop spice, malt, sweetness. Flavour has lots of alcohol, deeply malty, a little blackberry, clove, chocolate, soft citrus. Moderate carbonation. Very nice.

ricardostercios (335) - - OCT 11, 2018
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2018 Color negro opaco. Espuma beige claro. Aroma a café y algo herbal. Sabor moderado a torrefacto y agradable amargor.

GoDarkOrGoHome (504) - Pontypool, WALES - AUG 29, 2018
Slightly sour and sweet dark fruit aroma stands out, but it doesn't prepare you for the flavour assault that comes. Caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, notes of coffee, a slight bitterness but stronger flavours of roasted malt. The medium body gives this a creamy texture which only improves the superb flavours.
