COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Hailing from the tradition of 18th Century IPAs, which relied on generous hopping to protect exports during arduous journeys, this modern incarnation retains the strength, body and strong hop character which is synonymous with this beer’s provenance.

A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

NobleSampler19 (2080) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - APR 11, 2019

tp35282 (1060) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2019 Bottle. Pours deep caramel with attractive off white, well retained head. Strong caramel and biscuit malts, with supporting grassy hops, touch of clove. Moderate bitterness up front, with pine, earth and grass notes, followed by sweetish caramel malts that linger long on the palate with clove, juniper. Not very well balanced. Disappointing, because I love English styled IPA and it’s hard to get in Australia.

jooilakon (701) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2019 Bottle 500 ml ABV 6.1 % from Morrisons. Aroma is sweet with malts, caramel, citrus/orange, possibly some wood. Pours clear dark amber/chestnut body with cream white head. Taste is smooth bitter with malts, citrus, hints of caramel, wood.

NeverBinge (325) - Cologne, GERMANY - JAN 30, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2019 An English-style amber IPA with a deep, sweet malty nose. There's also a clear yeasty note in the aroma, along with some pear. Bitterness is firm, but not 'bomby', and a faint sweet edge on the tongue (cream sherry in the nose) rounds off a very nuanced beer. If you don't always crave American flamboyance, you should enjoy this a lot.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2019 Caramel, hops, spices. Good bitter. Rather classic IPA than new wave. Not bad.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2019 The aroma and presentation of this beer was good, but when it got down to the tasting I was disappointed. It's supposedly an IPA, but all I tasted was a cheap malt beer.

Piepenhenrich (1786) - Steinbach, GERMANY - DEC 31, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2018 Clear amber with a thin white head. Hoppy taste, yet rather mild, very subtle bitterness. Drinkable, but not among the most impressive of IPAs.
