I bought this bottle at the Boissons Center in Montagny. I drank it the last week-end in Bonfol. As usual, I had the right to have a lot of foam like the lava from the volcanos in Hawai. I was expecting something bad from this bottle, lot 313 but I was surprisingly astonished on the good way. After that the foam became liquid, I was able to observe a delicious dark copper/brown color, quiet like the fields in the south of France. The first sip was splendid, a little sour but I had a marvellous aroma of malt, plum, grapes, nuts, porto, some hop but it is sweet and well balanced. It is the kind of beer to try step by step, reading a greek poetry, wonderful ale. Bov (14988) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - FEB 28, 2014
from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier - cloudy dark bordeaux-brown beer with a fast collapsing head; aroma of brown sugar and plums, notes of pear and plastic; sweet and quite full-bodied, the finish is tart, short and light acidic with notes of prunes and undefined spices - weird rand (2170) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 22, 2014

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier; batch 77 bb 12/2013
Dark brown color with fizzy head, disappearing quickly. Mild aroma of dark malts, light roastiness. Some flavor of dark caramel and roasted malts; the mouthfeel is lean and dry (once again, not a perfect mastering of the fermentation process); there are traces of yeast (more hidden in this beer than in the others), with light liquorice; correct bitterness. There is maybe some more yeast in the end, but at least it doesn’t become too metallic.
Don’t expect an Old Ale, more similar to a Scotch Ale; still an imperfect and suspicious beer from this brewery, but at least this one is drinkable.
