(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Original, Brussels, 19 May 2017) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of white bread, dough and peaches. Malty taste with white bread, cereal, grass, a touch of citrus and a gentle spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

Had the beer as part of the Saveur Bière easter set. The looks of the beer are good. The beer looks exactly like a wheat ale should look like. The color of the brew is a rather pale yellow. The beer has a nice haziness. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, rough white foam is formed. The majority of the foam collapses over time, leaving a very minimal white drape. The beer smells nice. It is quite a hoppy smell. I smell lovely bitter, but also a bit sweet and refreshingly sour aroma’s of citrus fruits. I smell delicious lemon zest. Those tropical hop aroma’s give the beer a lovely fresh touch. It is almost IPA like, but the wheat gives the beer a milder malt character. Some malty characters exist, but mild and gentle. The delicate and tropical hops are at the foreground. Good beer. The taste has some more malt like flavours, forming a nice base on top of which some nice citrus and a bit floral hop flavours are placed. The beer contains a nice sweetness and sour twist, together with a strong bitterness. The beer is well balanced though. The beer combines the strong hops of an IPA with the delicate malt character and also a yeasty touch of weizener. Lovely. The palate is good. Medium bod, medium high carbonation and a nice little bit sticky texture. The finish is nice and contains some tropical fruits and some dry hops. Lovely. Good beer.

Yabon !

I bought this bottle from Amstein. I drank it at Paris in the hotel. I was personnaly surprised about this beer. It is really good wheat ale that we could say that it is a kind of IPA. I mean that there is a really good mix between the wheat and the hop, giving a good value for this bottle. The color is yellow/creamy and troubled, regular carbonation, a bit sparkling, wheat, hop, a bit watery, small side of grapefruit, next one please.

Bouteille 33cl, V&B Grenoble.

from Amstein - clear golden beer under a long lasting white foam; aroma of straw, wheat and ripe yellow fruits; creamy palate, some grainy earthiness; fairly bitter, dry and hoppy finish with more fruity tones
