La Forêt Noire is a reddish-black ale brewed with a mixture of malts (Carafa, Special B) which give it real body and depth - a color and texture reminiscent of chocolate torte. The beer is then blended with cherry wine and fermented cherries, resulting in a dark, roasty beer balanced by the fruity tartness of cherry. A perfect after dinner drink. The beer was named after the famous Black Forest cake: a combination of chocoolate cake and candied cherry. Cheers !

Black hue under a thin foamy light tan head. Interesting nose of dark malts and bretty funk with a touch of red wine barrels and a touch of herbal red berries. Crisp pop of funk and gentle buggy sourness on the flavor with a massive yet smooth red wine barrel Stout body, more buggy wooden funk, some red wine, and a lingering herbal nuance with red wine grape sweetness and more black malts and a bit of a brettt funky finish. Delightful as, and complex.

330 ml bottle from seeswo- thanks again, Chris! Pours a deep brown with a red hue and lots of tan yeast floaters, with a finger of beige head that settles into a bubbly ring and film. Notes of sour berries, chocolate, roast, toast, earth, tobacco, metal, and plums. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, fruity, earthy, toasty mouthfeel. Does what it intends to do and is pretty good.

Bottle @ TTOD(U)RBSG17. Pours hazy deep brown with a tan head. Aroma of wood - spice, fruity, dried fruits - red berries, slight note of something like cinnamon. Taste is loads of wood - tannis alike, grapey, slight vinegar, tart, with something mild sweet.
