UPDATED: APR 26, 2020 Pours like a normal sculpin. Aroma is grapefuit and pine. Bitter in a bad way, not a good one. Tastes like grapefruit juice, not a beer. I hate grapefruit juice. Jow (5477) - The W.G., Florida, USA - MAR 14, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2020 Six pack at home. Ticks will be hard to score with current pandemic. Light rosy orange and a frothy head. Nose is grapefruit and some pine. Tastes of ruby red grapefruit, some pith, pine, candy. Light bitterness. Easy drinking AlabastorJones (848) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 23, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2020 Huge grapefruit nose, ripe citrus zest, orange body, white head, tastes a lot like grapefruit juice on the first sip, shockingly bitter and juicy, it took me a few sips to adjust, really a truly amazing fruit beer KevinReddirt (789) - Midland, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2020 I've gone a long time without trying Grapefruit Sculpin, there were always six packs but I was looking for a single. A 12 oz can showed up at the local HEB a few days ago. So here we go. Bottom of the can says it was 'packaged' on 9/30/19. I'm using my chilled-off Buffalo Bayou snifter to make the sampling, I see a clear, orangey, mostly yellow liquid with a nice snow white head. The smell is pine and citrus, no surprise for this. And the drink, firmly hoppy and bitter starting, pine needles and just a hint of grapefruit. Too bad, I would have appreciated more. Crisp, refreshing. A decidedly West Coast IPA and that is not bad. UPDATED: OCT 12, 2019 Very nice IPA. Plenty of grapefruit, citrus, honey and hops. Well balanced and full bodied. camay1997 (257) - patton, California, USA - AUG 29, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2019 Purchased an expensive variety pack from Wal-Mart. Thick white head on top of a hazy golden body. Honestly it smells of grapefruit, and little else. The grapefruit flavor works in what is otherwise a typical IPA. I highly recommend this beer if you love ipas and grapefruit, otherwise it's a pass pdog555 (1125) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 5, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2019 Pours amber with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus and pine. Taste has light resin and hops, citrus elements. Palate is citrus filled, lots of pine resin. Pretty good. beer_rookie (1052) - Arkansas, USA - JUL 23, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2019 Wow! This is good!MrBeerFanatic (1304) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 13, 2019
Pours an apricot color. Two finger toasted marshmallow colored head. Excellent retention and excellent lacing.
Aroma is malt and water. Apricot and peach. You lost points here. Not so great, but the rest of the beer makes up for it.
Taste is grapefruit, peach and apricot malt bomb. Juicy, but more so the sweet peach side. Tart lemon. Lemongrass.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Crisp. Astringent.
Overall it is really good. Delicious. Easy to drink. I would recommend it and would buy it again!
UPDATED: JUL 13, 2019 Ihotel going home from Virginia Beach family reunion 2019. Medium caramel creamy head. Aromas grapefruit, caramel, candy, pine, citrus. Flavors candy grapefruit, citrus, caramel. Medium sweet and bitter. Nice unique balance of flavors. Pretty darn good ipa.
