Bottle from Carrefour, Calais, France.Hazy, light amber coloured with malty and toffee flavours followed by candy sugar and sweet fruit on the warming finish. Not bad. ForlornHope (549) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2017
Small bottle from a mixed box found in a French supermarket. Clear and amber, flat and no head. Not much aroma, slight almond notes. Sweet and with only a little bitterness. Nut and caramel notes and a sticky finish. There is an odd taste I can’t place. Would not bother with another. Bamsen78 (6497) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2017
Bottle. Pours nearly clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops and caramel and touches of yeast. Bitter, hoppy flavour with grassy and estery notes and touches of malt, yeast and caramel. Estery aftertaste with some acidic and metallic touches. Okay but nothing really illuminating.

330ml bottle from Auchan. Pours a lightly misty amber, large off-white head. Aroma hints towards earthy malts with a light sweetness. Taste is rather tame malts with faint yeast and even fainter juniper berries. For a biere de garde it’s nice enough, but not really hitting the high notes. aarin (8) - toulouse, FRANCE - OCT 17, 2016 does not count

from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier; 2010 vintage - pours a hazy reddish-amber beer with particles floating within; little white foam left; aroma of candi sugar, chewy malts and bread; slightly peppery and with hints of apple, sweet and full-bodied; highly carbonated; lot of residual sugars with more notes of bread - not terrible BlackHaddock (9509) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2012
22nd December 2011: Cork and caged 0.75 litre brown bottle: I have a feeling this brewery brews the same beers under different names, no proof, just a hunch.
Anyway, this bottle was poured into a couple of ’Palm’ tulips and an Augustijn chalice without any sediment leaving the bottle. All three glasses held an orange brew, almost clear but not quiet see-through: each on top had a good foaming head.
The beer had very little aroma, some fruity, flowery esters along with a hnits of yeast.
The taste was fairly bland, a disappointment to be honest: weak flavours of not much, some yeast remains and a semi-sweet malt feel to it, the hops offering nothing to the brew.
Wish I’d spent my money on something else. Would have struggled to finish the bottle without help.
