UPDATED: MAR 17, 2019 23 February 2019. (Tasting formerly known as) RBBWG. Cheers to all, thanks Kraddel for the hospitality! Cloudy black with a lasting, very thin, dark beige head. Strong & rich aroma of brownie dough, almond, moelleux, vanilla, cinnamon, Worcestershire sauce, mocha, praliné, toast, raisin. Taste is medium malty sweet, gentle chocolate & praliné, almost 'full brownie', balanced by a medium roasted bitterness that carries pure coffee roast, nuts, toast, even some tobacco, whilst an umami accent of soy & black olive enriches the flavour even more, and the biscuity malty base gives thorough support. All ends up in a dryish, peppery hoppy finish, more toast, brownie & tobacco, feeling a bit burnt indeed, though the chili remains in check, and a good dash of warming coffee liqueur alcohol to top it off. Full body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Massive Imperial Stout for sure, lots of flavour & complexity.

16oz can from Ray's in Tosa. Cellar aged about 45 days. Black pour with a brown head leaving a lot of stringy lacing. Aroma has caramel and chocolate and chiles with some roastiness to the malts. The hits of the aroma keep adjusting between 'big' bakers chocolate, and 'big' sweet caramelly malt, and 'big' chiles. Taste is of sweet caramel malts, bakers chocolate, chiles, a solid roasty malt presence. a touch of sweet vanilla, and some vague taste of dark cherries. The chocolate is a very strong player. The chiles are there, and a component, but are not too hot to overwhelm. The roast is also a nice player. This is actually quite well balanced between the sweet parts, the bitter ones and the spicy -- always a plus in a 'chile' brew that it does not take it over. The roast & chocolate really make this smooth. About full bodied, there is a bit of alcohol presence and a solid enough chile presence to provide some heat, if not too much. Finishes well melded between the bittersweet and the spicy. Three dimensional, almost, which is certainly worthy of praise. Indeed if there is a touch of barreling in here, as occasionally it tastes, that could be a four dimensional, quite balanced, brew. Wow! Not what was expecting. Much more. The base brew was excellent, in a chocolate/bourbon way, Natale was that plus cherry, but something was not as well done. Doughnut is a super-sweet mess. Mexican Wedding Cake was a whole new layer, and excellent as well - adding things without subtracting anything. This is similar in that it adds a nice chile presence, and does it in a way that supplements instead of hurting. Very enjoyable! Looking forward to the next one. 16.7

Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy and thick brown head, short retention. Moderate sweet dark chocolate, roast and coffee malt, lightly nutty with spicy chilies, light dark malt bitterness, dates, figs and prunes, lightly bitter earthy hops and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Black pour with tan head. Smells like a vanilla hazelnut bomb - awesome. Flavor is SMOOTH hazelnut and finishes with a manageable kick of spice. Delicious.

Bomber. I’ve had this one for a while. Thought I have rated this one. Completely black and oily. This smells really amazing. So much hazelnut and even some French vanilla. The spice is very light. It’s dense, and lily with a wonderful flavor dominated by vanilla, fudge and hazelnut with the only spice being at the finish. It’s really mild and completely tolerable.

September 19, 2015. Bottle, received in a trade with jtclockwork, thanks!
Black with a small dense brown head. Aroma is malty and roasted with caramel, toffee, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and chilies. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, roasted and hints of chili heat. Finish is light bitter with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, sweet malty caramel notes, some prunes and figs, slight fruity tartness a nice balanced chili head and some warming alcohol. Medium to full bodied, soft to average carbonation, slightly dry.
Smooth and nicely balance chili heat, has a slight fruity sour note that puts it slightly off but still good.

Bottle. Pours inky black, small brown head, dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, nutty, coffee, espresso. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, loads of coffee, chocolate, hints of hazelnut. Not getting any chili(?!?). Full body, creamy. Good stuff.
