500ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a finger of white head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is toasted grains with some chocolate and earthy, grassy tones. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a toasted grain and earthy, grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with modest carbonation. Overall, a decent brew that suits the style well. nearbeer (5413) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 9, 2017
500 ml. pours clear, deep chestnut with a lasting film of cream. Nose of cocoa, toasted malt, molasses and dried grass. Flavors of cocoa, roast malt, sourish cream and earthy toasted nut on the finish. Medium body has almost-medium fizz. Malt-alt slanted but with a delicate, easy drinking balance. @Erzbierschof - bright and clear ruby-amber beer with a poor head retention; malt, caramel and hints of red fruits in the nose; medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, a fair malt sweetness, hints of herbal bitterness before more malty and caramelish tones drdisque (838) - Illinois, USA - MAR 11, 2017
From clearance rack at Grand & Western Armanetti poured in an English Pint. Under the cap there’s some brown goo - I suspect this bottle has been stored upside-down. Pours decent. Very thick cola black with no head. Flavor is sweet chocolate with almost no carbonation and no alcohol burn. Very smooth but kind of boring and finish is expectedly quite muddy due to the amount of grain floating around here (and the fact that it sort of looks like mud). wlajwl (6803) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 19, 2017
Aroma is fruit, nutty malts and caramel. The flavor is nutty malts, big caramel/toffee, fruit and a bitter/spicy finish.

Danish pint from a 500 ml bottle; from Keg Liquors. Aroma: Slightly spicy fruitcake left a little past finished in a toaster oven; a healthy dose of herbal/noble type hops besides. Appearance: Murky garnet brown with with soft carbonation holding up a bubbly tan head. Flavor: Less fruity, but more toasty/spiced bready initially; a good amount of herbal hop bitterness towards the finish. Palate: Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Not had enough in this style to know if this is indeed true (or how true) to Altbier, but I liked it well enough. Felt it was a bit thin in the mouth. mcberko (17809) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 5, 2016
On tap at No Anchor, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is pretty fungal and BO-like, with toasted bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted bread and fungal notes. Bizarre BO-like notes on the finish. Unconvincing. ciocanelu (2523) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - OCT 17, 2016
Quite hazy, deep mahogany color with beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, brown sugar and some dried raisins. Taste starts with toasted malt and dark bread crust and finishes quite bitter and earthy with a slight roasted character. Body is on the lighter side, carbonation is medium. Easy drinking, quite dry and bitter, not bad. HerrBierkoenig (1452) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - OCT 10, 2016
