Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Oud Beersel Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Oud Beersel Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

[10006-20180111] Tap. Plastic new shoe soles and light notes of hard aged cheese aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange body with a quick bubbly head. Light tart fruit and boozy cheesy notes continue in the flavour. Medium body. Average. (6-/3-/6/3/13) 3.1
(@ Bar Hop, Toronto, ON)

Draft in toronto. Hazy orange body, small white head. The taste is sour, mindblowingly complex and grapes and white wine.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2018 Tap på NaparBCN. Uklar mørk gul med hvidt skum. Citrus og brett i næsen. Funky og frisk. Syrlig og frugtig i munden. Ret høj karbonisering af en lambic. Tør afslutning. Tæt på at smage af gueuze. Stærk lambic!

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: pours almost clear with a small and quickly dissipating head. Accordibg to the menu, this is a 1.5 year. Aroma is basements, mold and chesse... lambic type stuff. Maybe a hint of vinegar. Taste is sour... all the funk you'd expect. A bit earthy. Quite good.

sjogro (5255) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2018
Tap at FGF2018. Near clear dark golden with thin white head. Sour grain, apricot, unripe peach, warm funk. Moderate sweet and over medium sour, not vinagrous though. Medium body and no carbonation. Lovely.

jjsint (3652) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 14, 2018
Keg at CBC Brixton. Orange/gold, flat and hazy. Light barnyard in the aroma with mothballs and citrus peel. Sweet/sour taste with a dry, dry finish. Champagne vinegar and clementine in the aftertaste. Magic.

jercraigs (11166) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 14, 2018
2018-01-11. Lightly hazy golden body, small off-white head. 3+ Aroma is pleasantly odd. Barnyard funk with allusions to bubblegum. Flavour is lightly acidic, moderate barnyard funk, a touch dilute around the edges. Average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Interesting. 7/3-4/7/3/16 On tap at Bar Hop as Oude Lambiek Vieux , Toronto.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Hazy golden pour. Smell is cheesy funky a good woody lambic smell, gentle, not to acidic. Taste is same, sour and funky in the aftertaste but light up front, smooth, can feel the acidity in the palate, very nice luxuries.

DerWeg (1760) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 6, 2018
Wow this was interesting on tap at Bar Hop. Almost offensive at first with 'herbal; homeless' aromas, either DMS pea smell or sleeping-in-my-clothes-for-a-week smell. Uric. Taste is nicely tart and funky with odd DMA flop sweaty funk smell. Ashy and vinous, it gets better over the sipping. Lemony with some herbal bitterness, rewardingly strange.

kustie (1394) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 28, 2017
[email protected] Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has citrus, fruits, sour elements. Taste is fruity with long sour and quite dry and tart aftertaste. Flavors of sour apples, white berries, wood.
