Bottle at Malahide Grand, 10th November 17. Pours transparent black, aroma is cocoa, some citrus, roasted malts. Taste is dark chocolate, bitter citrus, cocoa, a little watery, but not a bad BIPA.

Not quite black in colour. Holds its head ok. I personally like more robust flavour. Particularly as I do like a Guinness. Worth a try but some deeper and nicer black IPAs out there ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Sheehans, Dublin. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light grassy fruity light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

I’ve had this a few times, not overly offensive in the hop department. Drinks more like a dark brown ale than a black IPA. Still very nice.

Bottle. Clear brownt to dark red body, minimal off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, resiny, pines, hints of coffee. Taste is empty, neutral, with touch of roasty and hoppy bitterness. Water, roasted malts, touch of coffee and leaves. Medium body and carbonation.
Unfortunately tasteless.

Bottle 0.5l. Almost clear, dark copper colored. AROMA- citrusy and resiny hops, roasted malts. FLAVOR- dry, moderately bitter, water, roasted malts, citrusy, touch of coffee. Medium bodied.
Somewhat empty. Not bad, but not very good, too.

RichardGretton (4788) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2016
Bottle. Blackish beer with a reddish tinge and a strong slightly off white coloured head. The aroma is gently roasted, and the flavour is quite bitter with good roastedness and hops. Overall a nice beer.

3.3
Idiosynkrasie (7974) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2016
500ml bottle. Clear, darkest brown colour with ruby glimmer and average, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of red berries and dark berries, blueberry, a touch of plum, dark malty background with a pumpernickel touch. Taste is dry hoppy, fruity and dark malty, slightly doughy yeasty, notes of plum and red berries, a touch of pumpernickel, cocoa and dark chocolate. If not genuinely an Irish, definitely an un-American interpretation of the style.
