Bottle at Sheehans, Dublin. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light grassy fruity light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Ive had this a few times, not overly offensive in the hop department. Drinks more like a dark brown ale than a black IPA. Still very nice.

Bottle. Clear brownt to dark red body, minimal off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, resiny, pines, hints of coffee. Taste is empty, neutral, with touch of roasty and hoppy bitterness. Water, roasted malts, touch of coffee and leaves. Medium body and carbonation.
Unfortunately tasteless.

Bottle 0.5l. Almost clear, dark copper colored. AROMA- citrusy and resiny hops, roasted malts. FLAVOR- dry, moderately bitter, water, roasted malts, citrusy, touch of coffee. Medium bodied.
Somewhat empty. Not bad, but not very good, too.

RichardGretton (4755) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2016
Bottle. Blackish beer with a reddish tinge and a strong slightly off white coloured head. The aroma is gently roasted, and the flavour is quite bitter with good roastedness and hops. Overall a nice beer.

Idiosynkrasie (7432) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2016
500ml bottle. Clear, darkest brown colour with ruby glimmer and average, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of red berries and dark berries, blueberry, a touch of plum, dark malty background with a pumpernickel touch. Taste is dry hoppy, fruity and dark malty, slightly doughy yeasty, notes of plum and red berries, a touch of pumpernickel, cocoa and dark chocolate. If not genuinely an Irish, definitely an un-American interpretation of the style.

blackisle (2527) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - OCT 25, 2016
Bottle 50cl. poured into a shaker. Clear deep dark ruby brown, small frothy beige head, good retention, heavy lacing; aroma malts, light lemon, pine, milk chocolate; taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, some pine, light roast; thin sweetbitter aftertaste, earthy and chocolate notes; light to medium body, watery texture, average carbonation; could use a bit more body but decent enough.

500ml bottle from SuperValu, Ennistown, Ireland (3.59):
Not a bad black IPA here, not quite as hoppy as Id have liked but there was some touches of bitterness & pine coming through; both could have beer stronger though. The dark malts & roasted flavours, alongside some chocolate seemed to be the easiest to detect but the beer held a nice balance & easy going down so Ill not complain too much.

thewolf (12535) - Kolding, DENMARK - AUG 19, 2016
Bottle, bought @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours clear black with a small, staying creamy off-white head. Aroma has licorice, citrus hops, light chocolate. Medium to low carbonation. Fine dry and.fairly creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has mild licorice, light grapefruit, light roasted. Quite elegant but also a bit bland.
