Bov (12888) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 4, 2017
from Au Grain d’Orge - bright blond-bronze beer with a little head retention; aroma of phenols, esters, pears and candy sugars; very sweet, grainy and metallic finish with lingering notes of artificial sweetness

Zeer frisse, fruitige geur. Een troebele kleur. De smaak is lekker fris. Een aanrader

Bottle from Deca at Woesten, West Flanders, Belgium, consumed at home on Pond Building Pt2 Weekend, indoors now cooking a. Chilli from the Thomasina Miers, Mexican Cookbook, Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 2017 Pours yellow/gold, murky with a white head that swiftly departed. Soft in the mouth, sweet and spicey with a little yeasty edge and a touch of soft squelchy banana. Really like this, just a touch too sweet. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from Deca and drunk at home. Clear gold colour lasting cream head. Yes some Belgian yeast esters, some peach and banana. Some easy drinking blond Belgian ale notes. Some bitterness on the finish. This bottle disappeared far too easily. Decent Belgian blond.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Mild gusher. Pours clear straw gold with a think white head. High carbonation. Aromas of creamy malts, bread, saint yeast spice. Taste has more mild spiciness, creamy texture. Quite sweet on the finish.

La Hendrik Geeraert 33 cl est une bière brassée par la Brasserie Deca en Belgique. C'est une bière blonde, au goût amer et rafraîchissant. Cette bière titre à 7°.

New Deca beer in honour of a local war hero. Slow gushing but manageable. Audibly crackling, off-white, moussy, medium thick but eventually largely dissolving head over an immediately hazy, peach blonde beer with light orange hue, becoming murky ochre and pear juice-like with the deposit added. Aroma of pineapple, banana, pear, strawberry, cake, chamomille, dry hay, white bread, baker’s yeast, turnip, white rum, moldy lemon, vanilla, white pepper, ginger, honey. Estery fruitiness, gooseberry sourishness and banana sweetishness with hints of apple and yellow plum, fairly sharp carbo, smooth malt body, pleasantly bready and a tad caramelly, malt sweetness continuing well into the finish with an earthy and floral hop bitterness added with decently drying effect, along with some bready yeastiness and a glow of warming, ’jenever’-like alcohol. Nothing to get too excited about, another straightforward Belgian blonde like there are so many around, but technically quite well made and pleasant enough for me, with a good balance of sweet and bitter.
