In the beer geek breakfast series – the beer that really put Mikkeller on the map, we decided to shake things up by adding a truck load of vanilla to the french press coffee trick, creating a whole new dimension to the beer that are loved by freaks and geeks worldwide. Not only that, we then placed it in bourbon barrels for 8 months for a truly unique beer experience. It’s dark, dangerous, sweet and incredibly tasty as you would expect, but most of all; it’s ready to conquer your breakfast table routines. Please note: The label is the same as the regular version. This one comes with a limited edition yellow wax.

(2016 bottle from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours pitch black with a few rapidly dissipating tan bubbles. Aroma of loads of earthy coffee and especially vanilla cream, Coffee Crisp candy bar, caramel malt, chocolate, soft bourbon. Flavour of dark caramel, vanilla, sweetened cold brew, much more bourbon than the nose, moderate chocolate, almost a peppery/spicy heat to it, a bit of wet wood, light ashy roast. Fair amount of spirit heat drying the finish down. Medium-bodied, feels a little thin but also rather paradoxically chewy, very soft carbonation. Quite good but I think the age might not have been kind to it because it's not god-tier, heavy on the vanilla relative to coffee.

Aromat mocno beczkowy, waniliowe lody, bardzo słodko, kokos, ale trochę mało intensywny ten zapach. Piwko ładne, gęściutkie, ciemne. Słodkie bardzo, bardzo dużo ciała, wanilia, super ukryty alkohol, kawowy aftertaste. SZTOS.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2018 W aromacie beczka i wanilia. W snaku słodko z kawową goryczką. Alko nie czuć, ale przeszkadzał mi taki dziwny posmak.

oberschlesier (545) - Kattowitz, UPPER SILESIA, - OCT 30, 2018
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2018 Aroma: insipid sweetness of vanilla and sth like maple, alc. a little bit detectable, bba notes are very very delicate - maybe only some plum jam notes. Taste is insipid sweet with a hint of alc. At the beginnig beer (from the bottle) wasn't thick, but on the bottom of the bottle there was sediment that made this beer very thick and oily. Unfortunately, there's almost no carbonation in this beer.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2018 Fra flaske. The hype is real!

sonnycheeba (7605) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 27, 2018
Bottle from mikkeller SD. Pours jet black. Aroma and flavor are huge vanilla and chocolate, soft coffee roast, some earthiness, caramel, light oak, some booze, and a nice touch of dark chocolate bitterness. Full body.
